Can’t argue with the outs suggested by most above. But not Lamela. Love his heart and passion and his love for playing for our club.

Think we are pretty much in same position as Arsenal we need to prioritise shipping players out in this window. Start to free up some space and rebuild.

out:
Aurier: only 18 months left on contract been in decent form might be final chance to get decent fee for him. If Tanganga can get and stay fit like to see him given run at right back till end of season as well as giving Doherty a chance. Given fee we paid for Doherty if he doesn’t improve by end of season think we would probably be able to sell him in summer and get back what we paid for him.
Dele- loan just seems to make sense all round
Moura- just isn’t consistent enough- been poor for past 12 months.
Sanchez- if we can bring in another centre back.
Sissoko- if not this window then certainly in the summer think it’s time to ship out.
Vinicius- If we bring in a striker that Jose will trust to play and be able to give game time too so Kane can be rested from time to time.

• Sabitzer. Seems to be another leader and like Højbjerg, one who can actually play a bit too.
• Marcus Edwards. Still convinced that of were brought him back, with his pace and skill, he’d grow into what our system needs on that side from an attacking perspective.
• Ben White. With Toby not getting any younger, we need to a succession plan and that means a centre back who can play. HG too and was superb last season for Leeds. Really think he’s got everything.

Out:

• Dele. Love him though I do, I just think he needs a fresh start and for whatever reason I don’t see him ever giving Mourinho what he wants.
• Sanchez. While I don’t think he’s the disaster others would have him as, he’s clearly not where we need him to be after several seasons and the flaws don’t seem to be getting better. Shame a he is a decent player and I get the impression a popular personality too.
• Lucas. We’re top heavy, I want Edwards back and he seems to have gone off the boil totally, but I imagine there’s still be takers for someone with his pace and ability. Would be a decent source of funds too I imagine.

It’s a shame Villa are doing well as I’d have loved Tyrone Mings off them, would take big money now though so probably better options available in Europe for cheaper.

Sissoko position can and should be upgraded.

Loan moves for Dele and Winks would be nice as I don’t think now is the time to sell them with COVID-19 driving prices down. We also have to consider how long Jose will hang around for as Dele could probably still be useful to our next manager which in my opinion could be as soon as 18 months time

I’d take money for Lucas and Sanchez at this point, neither value with increase dramatically post-pandemic and both too inconsistent.

Oh and cancel Gedson loan.

What I actually expect is maybe Dele and Sanchez out. Sabitzer and a CB in. Leave it until summer for any major revamp.

In the summer hopefully Skipp, Parrott and Sess will all be part of next season's squad. Possibly White and Cirkin too.

Think we’ll most likely just see Dele leave on a loan with no option and Gedsons loan cancelled. In an ideal world we’d find buyers for Sanchez and Gazzaniga as well and use those funds for Sabitzer or a new centre-half. Reports of Jose wanting another central midfielder as well. Could do worse than adding Sami Khedira on a short-team deal to add a bit of quality and experience to a midfield that’s currently quite lacking. If we could find an agreement to end Danny Rose’s contract as well that would be a good job done as well.

I think I'm getting a picture for the way Jose and João are trying to set up the team.

It's effectively as a 4231 with attacking fullbacks a DM and a box to box midfielder. Ahead you'll have two wide forwards who will push high and central and a false 9 as the AMC.

In possession the DMC (Hojbjerg) slots in beside the CBs and the AMC sits next to the Box to box midfielder with the FC as the target dropping deep and linking play. The fullbacks push high making it a 325.

Out of possession the wide forwards drop wide and the DMC/B2B drops into the back line to make it a very solid 631 when deep. Or a comfortable 4411 when the opposition is at the half way line.

The problem is that Sissoko as B2B doesn't have the technical ability to control the game beside the AMC (Ndombele) and our back line lacks pace through the centre and has individual errors down the right so we can't push the line too high otherwise we will leave too much space behind.

That means for me we need that B2B midfielder with technical ability, a CB with pace and potentially a less defensively error prone RB.

Any player that doesn't fit that model is not useful.
