In - Eriksen, Kessie

Out - Gedson, Gazza, Dele.

No massive changes needed imo. We need more in the engine room though. Kessie will offer more than Sissoko. Eriksen would add to our creativity, this would allow us to take the burden off Kane. Dele would free up funds, and Gedson and Gazza are surplus to requirements.

Realistically:

In:
None

Out:
Gedson - End Loan
Rose - Contract Terminated

I don't see much happening at all.
Winks and Alli won't leave this month.
The club will demand too much for Sanchez, but he might move in the summer.

Unless some non-HG players are sold, I can't see any moves for the likes of Skriniar and Sabitzer.

Are we going to get a ITK transfer thread this window? Appreciate the ITK threads are a hassle for the mods, but us rule-abiding saddos love it!

I’d be surprised if we bought outright this window. Lack of income from lack of fans would likely lean towards loan deals - if at all.
Gedson gone
Gazza gone
Dele loan to PSG
Eriksen in to loan

I think we need to trim the squad as much as is feasibly possible but also ensure we have the players to win something this season. On that note i'm not sure bringing in any big name signings in Jan will help us all that much as players will typically take time to bed in, but Sanchez needs replacing and we have Rodon and Tangana that can also step into that role if the new CB takes time to get going.

Outs:

Gazzaniga
Lamela
Fernandes
Rose
Sanchez

Ins:
Eriksen (loan)
Skriniar

Summer TW

MY WISH
OUTS:
1.Dele-Due to the obvious Josè situation
2.Winks
3.Moura
4.Lamela
5.GLC-If he is constantly going to miss large chunks of the season due to his injuries
6.Aurier-Really improved, but still lapses
7.Sanchez
8.Toby-been excellent, but if we get a good offer then accept it. Age against him
9. Bale

INS:
2 pacey dominant centre halves, with obvious height, and distribution. One must be natural lefty

Factoring in Skipp, would like 2 creative midfielders. Obviously Stabilzer (not sure spelt right) as one of the two

Sess coming back with Reggie is good for me
Many options out there for a RB

Striker, see how CV does
Need two attackers, but have to be with pace and flexible. Attackers who have the ability to change a game on their own.

Big ask I know

I think this is where I am now at regarding OUTS. I was prepared to give some of those (Aurier, Lamela) more of a chance and time but we simply cannot rely on them for one reason or another and if you look at City/United they have reliability throughout the squad. I'd keep Lo Celso though unless we are able to replace him with better or he shows he can stay fit for the remainder of this season.

INS - I have changed tact slightly.

Sabitzer - Instinctive, moves the ball quickly, excellent at set pieces, gets into goal scoring situations, ideal on the counter attack - lethal from many situations. We don't have anyone in the team like him.

Anguissa - He can do what Sissoko does, except his technical ability is much higher. He can move the ball very well and is very difficult to get off the ball, so perfect for helping transitions.

Celik - I think this is a typical Mourinho RB who can be reliable defensively and offer some attacking construction too. Better than Doherty.

Pedro Neto - Tactically and technically assured. He plays on the counter attack very very well and makes good decisions, something you can't say about the likes of Lucas.

Militao - Might be the best we can get for the outlay we have and I would have said Alaba if we had any chance. Quick, good positionally, aerially strong and better than what we currently have. Set up perfectly for our tactics too.

RETURN TO SQUAD

Sessegnon
- Give him a role as alternative to Son on the left but also give him game time on the right too. He's an intelligent lad positionally and has effective technique. Whilst he needs to be more confident in taking on players, his crossing is very good as he tries to pick players out rather than just hit and hope.

Skipp - Use him alongside Hojbjerg when we play tougher games and need defensive stability as he can screen very well and can springboard attacks. He can then feature to give Hojbjerg a rest.

Clarke - Send him on loan now and if he builds his confidence up tell him he will be given a chance next year. He has better technique and link up play than Lucas and I believe he will show more intelligence in attacking situations.

I'd like to think this is our squad

GK: Lloris, Hart, Austin/Whiteman
RB - Tanganga, Celik
LB - Reguilon, Davies, Sessegnon (occasionally)
CBs - Dier, Militao/Alaba, Rodon, Tanganga
DMs - Højbjerg, Skipp
CMs - Sabitzer, Lo Celso, Ndombele, Anguissa, White
Attackers - Kane, Son, Bergwijn, Pedro Neto, Clarke, Sessegnon, Vinicius (if he continues to do well in other comps and is no more than 30m)

That's then a vastly different team to the one we had in Poch's last year. Massively ambitious but its what needs to happen for us to move forward.
