Eh? Kulusevski has largely played on our right, teaming up will with Doherty before Aston Villa assaulted him.

Bryan has openly stated that his preferred position is on the left.

We NEED alternatives/options. Saying someone plays the same position is what we have to move away from with our mentality.

Competition for positions will separate the men from the boys. They'll sink, or they'll swim. They'll either elevate their levels beyond what we know, or they'll be farmed out & replaced by someone who's actually up for a challenge.
I meant that he plays in a front three, I can’t see where Gil would play other than that under Conte.

Let’s hope he returns and plays great, but I think he might be sold to bring in another attacking player that more fits Contes liking.

Gil is talented and very young, pre season could be huge, he just needs to bulk up, currently his not built for the league.

He also offers an option as wing back when we are chasing games

Pre season will be huge for him, his also got a good resale value :)

A bit of muscle who knows he did come on as a wing beck a couple of times when we where chasing games

One thing the lad does do, which Conte expects from all of his players, is work bloody hard.

@Chedozie , sorry if my response yesterday seemed a bit sharp mate (finally succumbed to Covid). I was just trying to say, front 3 = NEED rotation options.

No bother fella.
I agree that we need more front players, to rest Kane, Son and Kulu at the moment means playing a front line of Moura, Bergwijn and Scarlett, which is not good enough.

We need at least two new attacking players.

Sorry to hear your poorly, think about Elneny being an important player in the goons midfield to cheer you up.

Can’t say I like the idea of buying a bunch of older players. Understand that Conte wants a quick win before he goes off but don’t think it’s good for the club. We have older highly experienced players in Lloris, Kane, Son, Davies, Dier, Moura. We are in danger of becoming an old team. One or two world class older players I can see but not a minibus full

I'd be happy if Eriksen + Bale were the "one or two world class older players".

The average age of our core three CMs (Hojbjerg, Bentancur & Skipp) is currently only 23.5, with the oldest being 26. Therefore, we can get 5+ years out of each of them (with them all theoretically improving during that time), so maybe an older CM wouldn't be the worst thing.

I'd like any CB we sign to be fairly young, as Dier (28) and Davies (29) are both in their physical prime already. That said, if we could get a highly-experienced quality CB in his 30s on the cheap (e.g. de Vrij), we'd be able to rest Dier / Davies for domestic cup games and the rest of our defenders may learn a lot form them.
If any of Tanganga / Sanchez / Rodon is here next season (I highly doubt all three will leave), they'd benefit more from playing alongside a highly-experienced and disciplined CB than each other + Romero (very good, but not a super-disciplined CB who will keep them organised). I'd like to see whichever of them Conte rates most highly starting every domestic cup game.
