Radio 2? You work in an old peoples home?

I've listened to Radio 2 since I was 13, when I grew up and realised people like Chris Moyles symbolises everything wrong with this country.

It was October 1928 to 4 December 1965. Quite a feat.

Are you implying that Telegraph readers listen to the Beeb? Only if they want to be outraged at the blatant leftism on show, I would've thought.

I also enjoy listening to radio 2, do so most mornings (afternoons for you lot), however radio 1 has truly gone down in quality over the last 20 years.

To be fair mate, I think until about 1977, you had to pull out a gun and kill at least seven players before you would even receive a yellow card.

I'm told that in Ardiles' first season, when we were playing away at Swansea in midweek (way before the days when all top flight footie was televised), Ossie was giving Liverpool's "hardman" thug Tommy Smith (who was nursing his crippled knees in the Welsh retirement home known as Swansea City) a mare.

So, Smith decided to stamp and trample on Ossie. Ref did nothing.

So Ricky Villa sorted out Smith (the Scouse version of Ron Chopper Harris), mano-a-mano.

Tommy Smith and Ron Harris - below average defenders who survived in the top flight through intimidation and thuggery.

The likes of Robert Huth would have been maniacs back then......

I was at WHL the day Forests Tommy (I think it was Tommy) Burns was kicking lumps out of Ardiles and Ricky Villa sorted him out. That was around 78/79.
