Is it too early to make Vertonghen captain?

The man oozes class and is definitely Spurs Captain material! When do you think the right time will be?

As soon as Gallas is no longer playing regularly i.e. when kaboul is back or if caulker has won a startig place.

Gallas leadership is vital and his communication is superb. We need him at the moment as he organises our defensive line so well.

No rush to make JV captain at the moment but i agree he is the main man in line for it.

What a difference a couple of months make. Or how fickle am I? Over the summer it was Parker all the way for this job. A little injury and that's him out of it.

Isn't that more to do with the fact Parker isn't necessarily going to be a regular starter when he returns?

Nope. The outstanding candidate by some distance (neither Gallas or Parker will be in our best 11).

Too early to name Lloris VC, but I think that will happen too.

New manager, new system, new mentality, new fortunes, new captain.

I don't think it will happen this season. Gallas, Parker, Kaboul, Defoe and Lennon are currently in the queue ahead of him and we don't need to rock the boat.

That's not to say I don't want him as captain, but there's no need to put any additional pressure on him or piss off any of the other players.

Don't forget the Ledley-esque tackle on Hoilett in the QPR game! I can watch this again and again.

I am thinking that Sandro could make a good captain, leading from the centre of the park being the beast he is.

Captain? I'd make him bloody Chairman.

If he can run the club like he defends, he'll single-handedly build the NDP by Christmas and close our company accounts in the black despite buying Messi, Xavi, Sergio Aguero and a free Thai masseuse for every season ticket holder.

Aha, but could he make it easier to get away from the ground? Truly, a man who could solve the problem of being stuck in Tottenham in your car for a millennia after a game is one to admire....

Yes, it is a bit. Wait until next season. I'd bet my weather beaten ball bag that he'll be taking over from the departing Gallas.

Whilst we may not have the proverbial 11 captains on the pitch this is the first time I can remember us being able to field 4, 5, or 6 in the same team. Friedel, Gallas, Verts, Parker, Sandro, and Kaboul all have the attributes to make a decent captain so it's a tough choice.

But for me it should be the most senior pro and the most respected in the game so it's Gallas.

With a happy ending too?
