For the first home game of every season we should come out to this as it sums up the majority of Spurs fans optimism that this will be the season we make the champions league/win something/challenge for the league/be the top team in London (delete as appropriate).

So, you stumble out the epitome of slightly piss/diesel hybrid smelling ordinariness that is a UK train onto the stark urban railway platform at Northumberland Park that if they ever make the film Once Upon Time in Tottenham will make for a perfect opening set piece, you then trudge along streets so unlovely and unloved that they are possibly the only in the UK never to feature on an episode of Location, Location, Location; Passing as you do the fine eateris of Halal Fried Chicken, some rasta selling jerk chicken from kettle drum in his front garden and eventually as you near the ground, pass some 50 year old skinhead pissing in the front patio of the Church of the Latter Day All Souls.

And there it is, the post post modern temple that is WHL, all old yellow brick, painted metal and just well…more metal.

You walk up into the ground along with 35,999 other balding 50 year olds called geezer, and 1 token munty bird (also called geezer), into the decidedly concrete and plastic themed footballing amphitheatre and wait for the beloved Hotspurs to emerge.

And what do we get to accompany this emerging ? We get some poncey orchestral piece that sounds like it was composed for a episode of Gladiators, with all it's faux glory and fake valour. All strings and pipes and fucking choral flounceyness. It completely ruins the beautifully grubby buzz that is the rest of the Spurs experience. We don't inhabit the theatre of dreams, we inhabit the comedy playhouse.

For fuck sake, it is so not Tottenham, so not us. Surely we should be running out to Chas & Dave. It so much better captures the essence of Tottenham Hotspurness. That blend of Unhappy but content to be unhappiness, of chirpy disillusionment with life's slings and arrows that is the embodiment of us.

Come fellas, lets change the tune.

This is just not our 'Theme Tune'. This is our 'Entrance Tune.'

What did they play at the Cottage the other morning?

Also, we do have McNamara's band when the players come back out after the break - so it's not totally tradition-less.

That Hobbit soundtrack is just a variation of that used in Return of the King at Minas Morgul - bit disappointing actually.

It's meant to be. That's obviously the part with the Necromancer/Sauron, therefore the Mordor theme is used

Yep it was used in the Phantom Menace. Every time I hear it I'm reminded of massive disappointment, and a fortune flushed down the drain.

I actually do genuinely hate it.

Personally I'd like to hear us come out to In a Heartbeat, but I doubt that would be a popular choice.
The theme tune to Heartbeat?

I went with a mate to see Palace play Southampton before they got relegated last time and they played the main theme from the film 'The long good Friday.' That was really good.

Bin off the music altogether. Come out to silence, but only after listening to the inch by inch speech from 'Any given Sunday'

I don't care what we have but it needs to have words so the fat one from Blue to come out and sing it like it's a national anthem, whilst we all stand with hand on heart shedding tears of pride.

It's a thought anyway...
