Is Scott Parker any better than Jamie O'Hara

Na, most posters on here are too stubborn to hold their hands up and admit they were wrong so they will just look for feeble confirmations of their original snap judgement opinion in the face of all evidence and logical thinking.

Just like those who determined that Modric was a waste of money after only a couple of games and continued with their crazy opinion long after Modric was showing himself to be top draw.

Just like those who decided Harry was a mickey mouse manager only capable of success with small clubs fighting for PL survival and they continued and still do to enforce that opinion in spite of the fact he got us CL football and a 5th place with a CL quarter final.

Just like those knee jerkers after the Man U and Man City results continued to preach doom and gloom after the wolves game

I have no doubt that many of the Parker haters will continue to repeat the same opinions of him regardless of how well he continues to play for us.

Was neutral regarding his signing as I thought that his main attribute of dressing room and on-pitch leadership is balanced against his age and injury record. Glad he showed us what he is all about.

Not to defend negative opinions about Parker but the very fact that he is a non-flashy player seems to count against him amongst fans within and beyond Spurs. Spent sometime trawling other forums and found, for example, interesting comments from Pool fans who value Lucas more than Parker (Ridiculous but this is the type of mentality you find). Parker is a quietly effective player and the only thing I worry about is his injuries and that is purely because of the wholehearted challenges he makes that puts him at risk of an injury.

Guess what I am trying to say is that I believe majority fans will come around eventually if he keeps performing as he is doing now but unfortunately, patience is a rare trait amongst Spurs fans. Couple that with an obsession for flashy players in favour over effective ones, hence the overall negativity regarding Parker and his supposed limited ability. Walker is another case in point where I hope we can give him time and support to grow.

I am one who thinks Harry has reached the limit of his managerial ability especially after the Manc match but I am always happy to be proven wrong. More games like this and every fan will be happy to eat humble pies.

I was sceptical about Parker...
:hello:
I was very wrong, he's been superb in the two games he's played. Gives us real bite in midfield. Sandro has muscle, weight and can tackle but Parker has channelled aggression. I big away games we can play this formation:

----Parker---Sandro----Modric---

---VDV------Adebayor---Bale----

With that set up we would be hard to break down with enough speed and invention to pose a real threat.

Wasnt sure re parker but the last two games has really shown his worth - not only is he a fine player but more importantly he solves a massive problem for us in the middle of the park.

Too often we buy good players who we dont really need (see right backs for details) but Scott Parker is a perfect purchase for us and so management and chairman should be applauded

Seems Scott is becoming a bit of a fans favorite, any word from Dan Ashcroft on the matter?

Wouldn't have thought he'll hold his hands up just yet.
Probably still convinced there's a Chilean midfielder playing for Brescia who is so much better.

To be fair to Dan Ashcroft, he has given Parker very high ratings in the post match threads. Do you expect people realistically on an internet forum to come in and eat humble pie?

What a silly question Jimmy.
Parker has played very well in his two games so far.
He does simple things, quickly and effectively
and allows the more creative players to play off him.

He doesn't attempt too much and does it well.

Hey I'm not always right,
or wrong.

This humble pie is quite tasty.

If you just watch highlights and give players a mark out of ten for shooting, tackles, work rate, speed, stamina and heading then Parker and O'Hara are probably at a similar level.

But there's a lot more to football and a football brain is worth so much more than simple stats. There's lots of fancy players out there who can look great on a 5 minute Youtube video but in reality would be quite useless.

Parker is clearly a better player than O'Hara and if there was any doubt before then now we get to see Parker in a Spurs shirt the doubt will disappear.

Not as good as the pies at Spurs!
