Is Sherwood the worst manager we've had?

Tim is still learning. He's trying new things. Some work, some don't and some are openly ridiculous. But that's only to be expected. He's wholly inexperienced for this job.

You wouldn't let a learner drive the team bus up to Anfield, so why on earth have we got a learner coach setting the tactics and picking the team?

Is Tim our worst ever manager? No.

Is Tim our worst ever appointment? Yes.

Someone mentioned yesterday that Dim Tim will be remembered for his tenure at Spurs in the same way as Shearer is remembered for his tenure at the Barcodes. As someone said earlier he is out of his depth and was a terrible appointment and I would love Levy to tell us the rationale behind the appointment, I can only assume no-one and I mean no-one was available, which of course is not true because Hoddle was available and imo would have done better than Dim Tim at least until the end of the season.

No. George Graham was the worst manager and will forever hold that honour.
George Graham, might have been iour most disliked manager, but at least he won a trophy, in our history how many other managers have?

Gross was the worst for me....although I pretty much tuned out when we had Graham and Hoddle...probably a belated hangover from the Gross era haha! But I also didn't really like any of the players we had during those reigns. At least with Francis we had Teddy, Mabbutt, Anderton, Barmby etc.

And for all the fun about Ossie's famous five, he was pretty guff as well.

Sherwood really needs to win the final games of the season - they're all winnable. If he does that and gives some debuts to some of the youngsters then he can leave with a little more respect.

If the measure is simply winning a trophy then this is a pointless thread as you can simply rank them all from Day 1 in order. In terms of reputation damage, fans disunity and sheer displeasure at the footballing style, GG will be bottom of the pile for all eternity.

Sherwood has had a squad at his disposal far superior to that of his predecessors, a team full of internationals and captains at previous clubs....awful.

As a manager a percentage of blame is towards the manager, but in the case of Tottenham our squad players results against teams above us a greater cause of blame must go to the players.
Personal professional pride is an individual thing when an individual player has that strengh of character it tends to effect the collective group but you don't see that in our group of players.
There could be reasonable explanation to why that is the case, we went and brought new players without any premier league experience to expect a new player to stand first is a big ask when the chips are down.
The more experienced players in our squad have been riddled with injuries some quite serious then rehabilitation their main focus is staying fit. Then theres the players within our squad who come out in the press suggesting they seek CL football if that isn't achievable will be off, its a cocktail of disfunction,
throw into that managerial changes heavy defeats an inexperienced manager... Tottenham are in a real mess
however we did buy some technically good player and are not fighting relegation.

My recommendation would be to see through the season assess carefully the characteristics of our squad and to be fair to Sherwood he has rightly taken an elevated position to see what the hell is going on then act swiftly once the seasons done.

I personally would allow Sherwood the time to stamp his vision on us moving forward. These are the same players that got AVB sacked Levy does what Levy does so I refuse to completely blame Tim.

Under Dim Tim we have 3 home 3 away games, the only game I see any trouble with is Stoke away, however given how we are as bad as a punch drunk boxer with no confidence I can see a few more fuck-ups on the way........and if he loses to Wet Spam again I personally will clear his desk and drive him as far away from the Lane as possible.

He is the least experienced, that is it really. Don't think that makes him 'shit'.

Id say much much more experienced managers have come to us and performed as badly.

I remember Terry Neill, but at the moment I am furious with Sherwood like I've never been ever before over anything football related.

The other surprising thing for me from Tim's post-Pool interview was when asked if the players were getting the hang of playing against top teams...he said no..Truthful , but an admission that he's making no progress .

He just doesn't have the gravitas to make the players work for him . He stays in the stands because he can't affect things from the dugout he says....The players aren't listening to him . Must be a nightmare.

Now he knows his goose is cooked , the players know too, this last few matches could be an unpleasant watch .

This'll be the season we all remember as the time of thrashings . I can't remember so many in one year .

Well, there is certain Portuguese that went before him who got this season on PL at pretty similar fixture list less points and even with side of Tim playing piss poor at times and taking heavy beatings from top sides, got 8 goals worse goal difference. Then again we're talking about manager who got Chelsea on par with Newcastle of Alan Pardew.
