When he is at his best he is a top 5 striker in the Prem, end of discussion.

Unfortunately it just seems like no manager can get him to sustain that level unless his contracts running out.
Yeah, best leave it there.

Personally I never bought into the hype, was unimpressed when others were wetting themselves at the thought of signing him (I used GG then) and while he got a hatful of goals in his first season I thought he'd have had another ten if he was halfway clinical, his laid back style doesn't always convince you that he's putting a shift in either. On the the other hand, unless he's a totally corrosive influence in the dressing room we may as well use him to best advantage as a makeweight.

Great player on his day. It's a pity those days are few and far between. Also the mentality / dressing room issues.

In other words - he's had enough chances and is nearing 30... So, No. Thanks Ade, but it's bye from me.

Unless there is a 3rd choice striker waiting in the wings, I would keep until the summer when hopefully, there will be a club willing to pay his wage demands that would take him on. Otherwise we may be left short up front?

That said, if he has been disruptive and is a negative influence in the squad, it might be best to get shot sooner rather than later. A few of our midfielders could take a strike support role I suppose (chadli / Lamela), Hard to comment on internal business without witnessing it. Bad vibes are no good for anyone, JuJu or no….

Either way, I think his time at the club is drawing to an end one way or the other.

Don't know.
But I'll back whatever the man on the spot, Mauricio, decides.
Fine player on his day but so many non football issues.

I don't think it's really debatable. On his day he is unplayable, we've seen him do it before (for instance vs Chelsea). Best Spurs striker performance in some time.

The problem with Ade is that he is just nowhere near this form right now. Is it just me or did he look lighter and more fleet back then?

Yes, but not ahead of Kane and Soldado, and not in League play. I'm all for giving him Europa league playing time to give Kane and Soldado a rest. I don't think he deserves to be permanently relegated to the bench full stop.

It's very clear he has mental health problems atm, and it's probably why his form has been so poor. I hope he's getting treatment. He has my sympathies and support.

I am okay with Ade, not as Spurs' primary striking option though. We all can see he goes up and down mentally, so just play him when he's up. No ACN for Togo this time around, so please do not make him train with the reserves or some stupid rubbish like that. There's a lot of football to be played and Spurs are not deep at striker, so I hope Poch does not try to alienate him the way AVB did,... that was just petty.

Absolutely. On his day a top class striker. For what it's worth I do not believe in ITK.

I don't want to see him in our starting 11 anytime soon that's for sure, but him seeing how hard the rest of the team is working plus having him come off the bench may see some sort of acceptable performances.

No, no, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, (in an Ian Paisley sounding voice).

I have been one of the few that have been loyal since he arrived. Simply because I know that on his day he is not only our best striker but a rival to the best in the league. Unfortunately we haven't seem those days for some time. Combined with the fact that he likes to challenge authority and do his own thing makes me realise at last, that it's time for him to go.

Rejoin struggling Harry at QPR perhaps?
Really can't see that, HR has worked with him before so knows what he's like, besides, I saw him talking up JD yesterday who would be a much better option for them.
Can't see who'd want him in the first instance, especially when you factor in what he'd want financially because he's already said he isn't being forced out...

I think missing preseason yet again hasn't helped him at all. I think if he stays we'd be better off if Moe had a chat with him and said to just concentrate on getting fit until January rather than think about playing.

I think he needs to go away and do some soul searching.
If he comes back "on side" he should be given another chance to be part of the squad. Not automatic choice.
Then again, i haven't believed in automatic choices since David Beckham was an England regular doing fuck all under Eriksen.

I've been a staunch supporter of Adebeyor. I still do believe that in terms of talent he's still the top dog. Sadly his mental state is restricting that talent.
The meteoric rise of Kane has softened the blow to say the least. He's going to love playing Chelsea tomorrow night. Hopefully he roughs Terry right up.

Yes unless we can replace him with someone suitable in Jan. If Soldado and Kane are our only options and they are likely to play together, that's not enough.

ACN may force Levy's hand, but at this stage he's still our only proven goal scorer at this level.

Saw an interview from when he was first signed on loan and he looked far more trim.
