I've put this in the youth thread but I feel it deserves a thread of it's own.

This is 100% on the money as far as the academy and club philosophy are concerned.

Anyone who watches this should give props to the guy's channel, it's pretty much gospel. (y)

We’re growing tomatoes on the NFL pitch and using them as ingredients in the stadium sandwiches.
the proposed hotel will feature twin and double rooms so that 2 friends don’t feel awkward sharing the same room.
the Urinals feed into a recycling plant and is used for the on-site brewery
They are planning a barbershop, that specialises in perms and tints.

pretty run of the mill stuff really. Not sure why we had to wait for Scott Munn to join.

Basically - aligning the style of play across all ages of the academy and the first team, only hiring managers who play the right way, more emphasis on winning than development etc. He said each of those things about 15 different ways and then read a load of comments. Simon Davies is the head of the academy and he's been there a year and it's been going since he arrived so it's not just an Ange thing - it makes me wonder if Conte realised the writing was on the wall long before it seriously started going downhill (health and emotional reasons aside).

It's great stuff tbh, making all the academy ages play the same as the first team is one of things Hasenhuttl implemented at Southampton and they loved him for it.

I also want to know why we've announced a partnership with a crypto scam.

I own some crypto. Fan token bullshit is just a massive con.

Came in fully expecting to get to use this gif in context:

Instead, I found out some fella got word there is a club wide playing philosophy now. That’s great and I can handle it!

53 mins… anyone who’s watched it care to summarise in bullet points for those of us with less time?

I transcribed the audio, fed the transcript to an AI model for it to summarise and it gave me this:

  • The host attended an event at the Tottenham Hotspur academy and training facility and got inside information.
  • For the first time, the Academy Director led the conversation at this event, which is unusual.
  • The academy has implemented a club-wide playing philosophy where all youth teams now play in the same style and system.
  • In the past, Spurs focused on developing individual player talents rather than having a club-wide philosophy.
  • The new Academy Director is implementing a consistent playing philosophy across the club while still developing individual players.
  • This approach aligns the academy style with the current first team manager Ange Postecoglou's style of play.
  • The Academy Director says this mirrors Manchester City's approach and believes Spurs' player development already exceeds Man City.
  • The host sees this strategic alignment of the first team and academy as a fundamental shift at Spurs.
  • Key elements are recruiting players suited to the system, instilling a winning mentality, and only hiring managers that fit the club philosophy.
  • The host is optimistic about Spurs' new philosophy and strategic direction, but the chairman must continue backing this approach long-term.

There was a lot of noise over the summer about what a shitshow it was behind the scenes. Glad to see it didn’t impact implementing this vertically integrated strategy and philosophy. Thank God at least a few of them were not impacted by the fecal fete.

Pretty sure I remember reports about all age groups being instructed to play the same way during Poch’s time.

Good skills. Can we use for a new version of the match thread? 😀

Maybe there was ‘a plan’ after all…

A plan yes, didn't stop it being a mess as far as the managerial search was concerned. I know you don't like to miss an opportunity like this to to try and tell everyone it's all part of a master plan, but it's not that simple.

If you've watched the video the guy also said he spoke to an academy employee who said it's all going great right now, but they staff are still cautious because of how DL has a habit of just flipping the script at the drop of a hat.

As I say as far as everything I've heard I make this guy on the money with everything he's saying.

You can’t do that if you are building an embedded football philosophy in the club. Requires patience, self control and a respect not to interfere.
Of course not and we all know that. Let's be honest here the signs right now are that we are doing everything right. It's taken a long time to get here but we are certainly on the right track with what we have in place right now. FP has gotten most things spot on and that's why I said we need to just keep building on all the good work. With a new DOF and Levy's track record I can certainly understand why some at the club are cautious and fingers crossed no major changes are incoming.
