Hello all

even thought i stated Arsenal defeat due to '2 goals' played it's role and mentality for both teams .. but still i forget to talk about other fact which costs us the game even today ..

so for the 2nd game in row, but in 10 years in row ( apart from season 2009-2010 where we finished 4th ) .. our defense costs us dear .. it's look like our goal hammered so easily ..

today, at half-time, i thought positive about they took a lead before half time, as they would stick by defending plans, this could be a bit better than 0-0 or 1-0 and shock us with better performance in 2nd half, and later it was that case, we kept dominating a game vs them but once again we conceded another goal so easily .. it's really shocking .

We concede when we want to defend like vs Swansea or Arsenal, we concede when we attack and such counter like 2nd goal for United or City 2-3, and we conceded in set-pieces like Man United 1st goal .. so when we can defend better ?

i think we need some decisions, from the management to the fans !
we need to lose some love for good football and welcome a bit tight system for paticular games .. or we might need to use Kaboul as RB for some games and we need to welcome new CB to treat King as backup ..

also, even at 0-1 or 0-2 today, Harry made it too late to change things, and even the subs were shocking, i know Livermore played one of his best, but doing well doesn't mean he should keep playing, it was better to take him off for Niko or Giovani and bring Modric back to CM.. i wonder why he decided to use Rose as well instead of Giovani ? why that treat for Giovani ?

as much as i like Harry, but tactically average ..

best regards ..

I really don't see what Harry could have done. I've read it about 50 times so far today that he only reacts and doesn't make preemptive changes, but even at 2-0 down I was thinking to myself, would I change things right now? The decision I made was no, and mostly because we were still dominating possession and chances, the system was working and we had very little in the way of 'game changer' on the bench.

The fact of the matter is, we lost again today because of a lack of concentration when we really should know better. Forget the 2nd Young goal, because it was a great strike - it was two moments of madness where we switched off that cost us. How do you deal with this? Is it all about experience? Is there something wrong with the way we train? Do we need more leaders on the pitch? I just don't know the answer to the question.

it wasnt tactics -we owned them in midfield. it was piss-poor concentration and execution - particularly on defense.

You don't watch football. We lost because individual lapses in concentration in our back four.

This game wasn't about tactics, we bossed midfield and had a legit goal ruled out.

I coudl tell from the start of this match the weakness of both sides was defence. THe aim for both teams was to play very cautiously and slowly at the back and keep possession as much as possible and as safely as possible. If necessary, hoof it up front or hold possession with quick passing just outside the opposition box.

Man U did this worse than us today, but the actual killer instinct is far stronger with the likes of Wooney and Young than Adebayor and Saha.

Our defence is set up such that it's awesome for an all out attacking style, but should anyone dare to attack us back, then we are in trouble. Harry did nothing wrong. We need to sign a world class striker and a world class centre back if we want to win the league while still maintaining this style.

We need to change the way we service our strikers to get the best out of them.

A team can defend and play good football. the idea that only one or the other is possible is the biggest myth in football

Should have started with Rose or Dos Santos at left wing and Luka in the middle. Walker has been below par the last few weeks -he probably needs a rest. Saha did nothing in the 2nd half - he probably needs to build up fitness.......should have started with (or brought on earlier) Defoe. In general, last 2 games he didn't use his subs too well.

We know tactics isn't HR's strong point......which is why we haven't done well against teams with top managers.

It was a weird game and I don't think there was anything particularly wrong with the starting lineup or the tactics. We were patient and structured which after the shambles last week was good to see. We played Scholes and Carrick out of the game which not many teams can do, we limited them to just a few chances (which unfortunately they scored) and worked hard too.

But United were so comfortable breaking our flow when we attacked. If we got any momentum they would either conceded a freekick or put it out for a corner. They had obviously done there homework and realised that we can't score or even pose a threat from these kind of set pieces especially without VDV and Bale. It just became so easy for them to simply 'concede' a set piece then set up well and make sure there was no threat.

We on the other hand did the exact opposite and really conceded 3 poor goals.

Everton away next is now a huge game.

We owned them in the midfield playing sideways passes, great

Our best ball playing midfielder playing on the left so he can be less influential, great

Only putting him back in CM when we are 3-0 down, great

Making subs so players can keep their fitness levels In shape, great

the differnce was the quick thinking that they showed going for goal and that we missed withoout bale anf vdv, small margins. nobody on the bench would have improved anyyhing.

Dawson instead of king....

^^ this...

I was saying that myself, as much as I love Ledley, the last 2 games he has not be good...Needs to have another rest and Dawson to come back. - Also, Harry maybe should've brought Defoe on a bit earlier

We did do them in midfield, but there was no outlet down the left.

Our best central midfielder was pushed out to the left and was pretty much not involved down the wing as he's not a winger. Don't get me wrong, Modric was instrumental in our midfield, but not where he was meant to be playing, which isn't surprising.

I agree with the post above, we needed a bit of pace down the wing. When we've played our best we've had Bale and Lennon both hitting the space behind the midfielder and attacking the full back, yesterday we had this on one side of the field and it gave us very few outlets. Add to that they had Nani down the right, we could have destroyed Phil Jones who looked suspect every time we attacked him.

I didn't take it too bad yesterday, it was what I was expecting. Pre-game I was expecting a win, then when we had no Bale and saw Modric was out left, that was game over for me.

Anyway, does anyone remember what happened last time we had 5 then 3 put against us with 0 points. We need to react the same.

If 'Tactics' includes set pieces then I totally agree.

They are a total disgrace - division 2 at best.

Otherwise no.
