Good find yanno.

It just wouldn't work in practice. If it did transfer fees would become obsolete (destroying lower league clubs), all 16 year olds would be made to sign 20 year contracts and wages would go through the roof (the last thing footballers need). It would be disasterous for the game.

i believe that the extra two year rule and the six year contract for Modric are counters to the webster rule, basically if anyone says "oi Berba buy out the last two years of your contract" we then say "extra two years now"

that's the way i have read the situation :shrug:

I wouldnt want SWP, crossing is just as bad as Lennon's plus he doesnt look to attack his fullback like Lennon does. He's less winger more attacking midfielder in my opinion.

Anelka would present a problem we dont want or need.

I imagine our strong stance will pay off in the end. If Berbatov really wants to leave, he will have to reduce his terms so that the buying club can pay more money to us. There is still plenty of time left in the summer.

I have complete trust in the club in their handling of this (as they did with Carrick)
