He was very promising 3 years ago but then got his leg broken in CL game vs Olympikos (a really dirty tackle at that!) and since then struggled to recover. Slowly been coming back but can't see him being an impact player nor better than what's already at the club.
Can play OMF or WMF (but he's not really a winger), fairly fast and technical but not very strong built.

o.kristensen - Spursodyssey

I was provided with som ITK info today aswell!!

I heard from a very reliable person that four people from Spurs (Bryan King and possibly Commoli plus a legal advicer) was in Drammen Norway a couple of weeks ago to talk to Rosenborg. The player in question was Per Ciljan Skjelbred. A hard working CM. From Rosenborg was Rune Bratseth there as he is Sporting Director.

The person that told me this is not a Spurs fan. He was out having dinner with a buisness assotiate who knows Bryan King personally.

I know that it's old news that we are looking at Skjelbred, but I was not aware that it was so serious as this.

Passed on in good faith

Never heard of him. Any good?
I'm sure there are a good few MFs that I'd prefer (having heard of them is a good start) but then again I'd never heard of Hutton (and a good few others) before we were linked.

Anyone know more about this chap?

Before his injury he could've become one of the world's best midfielders, he was definitely one of the biggest talents Norway has ever seen. He has been struggling a bit more since, but I can definitely see him joining a team like Blackburn, Villa or Pompey. But to be honest I can't see him as being good enough to take us forward and help us into CL contention.

He's not very strong, but he can cling to opponents like a mosquito and constantly harass them, he can run on for ever and never seems to get tired. I would compare him to Jenas in our current squad, only Skjelbred has more bite. But as of today Jenas is the better player.

yeah he's been a wicked winger on Fm for a few years although it seems he's more of a battler now. Maybe a good option to throw into the mix if we don't go big on defensive midfield - we need a scrapper.

Agree with most of what Marty says and its a real shame that a stupid tackle holds back his career like that for years but I honestly believe he could make an impact in the premier league for a cl fighting club.

If given one season to adjust he would make a bigger impact then MGP ever did for Blackburn.

i expect lots of signings like this, players who arent exactly big names, but who can do a great job.

problem is, l jus googled his ass and he looks quite similar to player we have just signed....

Yep exactly, Ramos is known for signings like this, good quality squad players that he can mold the way he wants, i've not heard of the guy but if he was as good as it sounds before the injury then i'm sure our fitness guru's can get him back to his best.

Gawd, I've just seen the tackle that put a freeze on his career. Ouch. If he was as good as people are saying before that injury and our medical and fitness teams think they can work some magic on him, then... well...

He reminds me of Malbranque a little bit, a wide player but with a good work rate and a better tackle, as Malbranque's tackles always look so rash.

I actually support Rosenborg as well as Spurs. Per Siljan Skjelbred would be welcome at The Lane. I think he could be a fans favourite given time, and that`s maybe the problem. Not many players are given time by the some of the fans at Spurs.

Per Siljan was very very good and still has massive potential. At one time he actually outfightet and run over Real Madrids midfield at Bernabeu. That was one of the most impressive performance I have ever seen from a norwegian player. He is still young and will fit into our policy of buying youth. He is not strong but works his socks off every game. He is very fit and has a great stamina. Given 1-2 year and I think a bigger club could actually pick him up, so I think we could test Rosenborg with 3-4mill pund. That`s really worth the gamble.

Here is the tackle from a nasty dirty pic called Stoltidis. Players like this are a disgrace for football and when committing tackles like this should be banned for at least a year and have their salary taken away from them. It may have such bastards think twice before they act.

PS! No offense to any Greeks on here....but that Stoltidis really look like an animal.
