From cabinessence next door. Usual impeccable sourse.

Stadium agreed. New one to the north of WHL where they've been buying land. No need to find temporary home. Full details to be announced Sept. Don't ask me why. Existing Paxton stand area will form part of new stadium so capacity will go down whilst new one being built. New one is the bollocks, looks like a spaceship. 50000 capacity but can be tweaked easily to go up to 60000 in the future.

 sounds good.

I think this is very likely the option that will be taken but not sure on the details. I would have thought that:

- Building will start on the north side of Paxton Road and go up, not the southern side of the road.
- It would be built for 60k from the start - this would be much cheaper than later 'tweaking'.
- The designs will be ready in June when the announcement is made - these were commission a long time ago and would needed to have been submitted with the planning application.
- Soup bowls are so passe now that a more rectangular design will be presented.

Just thoughts.

fantastic news if true -

so pleased about no ground share -

I remember at least one person here telling me a ground share was not just feasible but essential during my long no ground share campaign when I've been saying time and again a ground share wasn't feasible- and soooo many people going on about how we were going to x y z etc

ssoooooooooooooooooooooooo hope this ITK is true

Chelsea and even West Ham are building 60k. We'd be left behind if we dont.

If they increase the capacity too far beyond demand , people like me will not renew their season ticket and will take a chance that we can get tickets to the matches we really want to see .

That will result in lower revenue for the club .

For the very big games (prob 6 or 7 games a season) we would sell out 60,000 no problem, you would find that way tricky if you wanted to get good seats especially.
