All the best to Michael Dawson, I have a lot of respect for him. I was particularly impressed the way he held his ground and fought for his spot under AvB. I expect him to get a good reception at the Lane

Top man on & off the pitch - always gave everything and played with a smile on his face. Good luck at your new club, MD!

Top THFC servant and put in many good performances for us. Makes sense to sell now while he still commands a half decent fee.
Really respect the fact that when he was nearly sold to QPR he just rolled his sleeves up, cracked on and always led by example in terms of commitment.
All the best (bet he scores a header against us).

Loyal servant for the club and whilst he was not our best Centre Half even in recent times in terms of his abilities no one can fault his effort and commitment to our cause over the years. Here's wishing you all the best at Hull City FC and yes you do deserve a rousing reception when you return to the Lane.

It's my birthday and the club sells one of our true servants. Heartless bastards :(

Steve Bruce is getting a bargain and is developing a record as something of a master wheeler-dealer. For a club with Hull's aspirations, borrowing Livermore & buying Huddlestone last season gave their midfield the kind of control and class that a promoted club rarely benefits from. I think every Hull supporter credited those two with keeping them up.

Now Bruce has equipped himself with a seasoned, knowledgeable defender who has experience of international matches and the Champions League, who knows how to tackle, where to position himself and how to make a clearance, but crucially isn't 35, crocked and past it.

Dawson's lack of pace and especially his slowness on the turn gets exposed against the likes of Aguero or Suarez, but frankly the rest of Hull's squad will also get ruined by players of that calibre. If they can occasionally beat a top 6 club, then that's a bonus. Where Dawson will be invaluable is stabilising their defence when playing against their peers: the other mid-table clubs, who do not have strikers with blistering pace and world-class vision.

And Dawson gets to play every week and be a leader, which will suit him well.

Wonderful analysis... but I find myself wondering if Dawson would have been the world class player we wanted him to be if - like John Terry - he had consistently been surrounded by top defenders, rather than always being the last-ditch warrior of a typical Spurs shaky backline. We've lost a world class team player, that's for sure.

From memory he was signed with another player, of higher profile from Forest as part of deal. Funny how he turned out to be far better player and captained Spurs. As stated he gave 100%, was a seasoned professional and rather than sulk won his spot back in the team. All the very best MD and yes I am sure he will receive the reception he deserves when he returns.

Time as they say waits for no man, but in Michael Dawson his future lies elsewhere.

As a servant to the Club he sits up there with Mabbutt and King in the present era of players that have given there all to Spurs.

I hope that one day that he returns to the Club in some capacity, as he deserves to be part of it once again.

A great servant to Tottenham Hotspur and by all accounts, a great guy and a gentleman. I am sure he is Spurs through and through now. Good luck Michael!

(Although, that penalty against Portsmouth in the FA Cup semi final was devastating)

Good luck Michael.
