Not sure why Kane is getting stick. He gets criticised when he drops to deep and told he should remain at top. What’s the point when he gets no service. Even when rashford came on for 20mins he probably touched the ball like 5 times. You won’t get any service from Sterling: I have absolutely no idea how he got to stay on the pitch for 90mins!

Pretty conservative set up with two DMs, played at a snails pace which suits a team like Scotland. Sterling very fortunate to play full game should have been subbed. Southgate should be going for the win but leave two DMs on, makes little sense. Kane not great but not getting much service, would have kept him on and taken Rice and Sterling off before swapped out Kane.

Listen, It's fair enough to criticise H and he's not undroppable.

But I've seen it time and time again and he comes back and makes them eat their words.

It'll happen again.

Not bothered that he took Kane off but it didn't help did it and he's taking some blame for it but there's no point having him in the box at his best if you don't put the ball into the box anyway, James did it once and Kane could only just get his head to it but that was it. For fuck sake we hit the post from a corner and then even stopped putting the corners into the box, what were those low corners not even reaching the near post all about.
This was the banker and we blew it, we ain't good enough, too many showboaters flattering to deceive so now we'll have to beat the Chechs to go through and I don't think that team can, unless Kane turns it on and wins it for them.

Almost every time the ball came to him he lost it, Southgate subbed him for a reason.
Don’t get me wrong I love Kane and think he is a great player but when he is having a stinker he has to be subbed like anyone else
He's a goalscorer not a playmaker Dondo well in this England team at least. iQUOTE="werty, post: 7438051, member: 6153"]
Sure, I'd expect them to win. But booing the team just because they drew is a joke.

England aren't the equivalent of Liverpool. They aren't that good. They've a few good players, mainly in the same position, and some young players who should be very good but aren't yet.

Lol why do people get so offended when the crowd boos. How else can they show displeasure? It's a highly effective and appropriate response to this shit.

There's just no plan B with Southgate, it's all patient build-up waiting for a gap or mistake, and when that doesn't come he's either too stubborn or lacking in confidence to positively influence the system.

and Rashford got his touches by dripping deep or going wide.

You could put a hybrid of Pele and Maradonna upfront. If you don't pass to them what's the point.

Look at his scoring record you idiots. Sterling is a bigger problem in the puzzle than Kane is.

That said, I'd drop both for the next game. Along with Rice.
Sterling is so selfish with the ball. Never passes when he should. He was always rubbish for England before. Everyone looks good for Man City because Pep is the manager. Same old England. In the world cup I thought Southgate took a step forward because he tried different things, 3 at the back, creative set plays etc.. but now it's gone back to safe and sensible

We need to not have James on the pitch fr now on. So many backwards or sideways passes! It was only when Grealish came in did we look to create something, but then didn't have Kane on (though looked poor)

Huh? England looked utterly hopeless from the moment Grealish came on.

Like I said I 'm not sure that was Grealish's fault but the team's not built around him like Villa is so any semblance of (albeit boring and ineffectual) structure collapsed the moment he cam onto the pitch.

Needed to have many more games of Kane/Grealish playing together to get synergy. Too late now...

You say that but he had 6 players who just played in European finals tonight, the man who I think is the best striker in the world , in grealish and sancho two lads who will likely move for over 100 million each this summer . Is it the best squad there? No I think the French squad pipes it due to their centre backs but the England squad is filled with top top players who teams across Europe would love.

Scotland are nowhere near that level.

Not arrogance, not entitled just reality and whether you agree or not with the Liverpool comparison the gap in talent is huge.

Kane needs to be the main man, he’s not in this setup. Southgate seems to have set the team up to try and showcase Mason Mount’s ability to cut in from the wing and do fuck all, and Phillips and Rice to pass sideways.

He’s such a negative coach. England have some brilliant attacking talent, players on the bench who can change games given the right instruction.

It’s all being wasted under Garry Southgate, and anything this team achieves (And they’ll be lucky to make the QF stage imo) will be in spite of him not because of him.

He’s very cautious. I think he would he an ok manager and was when the squad didn’t have the individual talent it now does and he brought a decent structure to it

but he isn’t the guy to get the best out of the sort of talents we now have as he will always set his team up too cautiously

I'm still dumbfounded he kept Sterling on.

England are an average side hugely overrated by media and pundits yet again.

Shite CBs, shite CM, and picking the wrong players in attack.

There are far better teams in the competition who will wipe the floor with England.

I agree but when that happens at Spurs he drops deep and gets it himself. He definitely looks tired.

I think they have a pretty good defence, there problem as always is creativity from midfeild.
