France have played within themselves so far tbf. But there are flashes at how devastating they can be. The way they repelled Germany, and the way they can break with Mbappe. Griezmann's industry and creativity... and the way Pogba can run a game with flashes of genius.

When they come alive there'll be no stopping them.

They didn't at the last World Cup and Euros either.
I think a lot of other teams look a lot better for this tournament. France on paper are amazing, but the competition will be stiffer post last 16 than the wc In my humble opinion. See what they are made of and if they can click.

Austria played much better in the second and should not be ashamed of their performance.

If it 0-0 after the extra time, Italy can be eliminated without conceding a single goal in 4 games. Football is weird sometimes.

It is. Like Portugal being champions of the last Euro winning only once in 90 minutes for the entire tournament

Looking forward to watching the Dutch play - think they have been entertaining and attacking. Think theyve been second most impressive team behind Italy.

All ready in the Villa household with orange clothes, flags and bunting. That’s the Mrs and the little one. I’m all in for the Czechs :cautious:

France haven’t looked that great either to be fair
I agree, but in the tournament world of narrow margins they have the advantage of having more margin for error than any other team due to the talent and experience throughout their squad.

Having 5 subs def help France with their squad than others.

One thing for sure England under Southgate(and too many cautious mangers before him) will never play with the same belief, courage and determination against a top team as Austria did against hot favorites Italy. Against Germany we’ll be over cautious with 2 holding midfielders and more frightened about what they could do to us than what damage we could do to them. I just wish we could have a England manger who let his team play with the handbrake off, made them believe they’re good enough to beat anybody and let them just go for it. Austria may have lost to Italy but they left everything out on the pitch. When was the last time you could say that about a beaten England side.
