I haven't had a reply yet, what was the general idea of what they said to you?
Pretty much the same response as the original poster. That in his opinion, the high gantry is too remote and he feels the lower gantry provides better coverage. I'm about to send him another polite reply, thanking him for his response but list the reasonS why IMO, and most other fans, the lower gantry is worse.
I just hope itv dont turn round and not put us on because of all these emails going back and forth about camera angles, migbt see a slightly less attractive game as the easy answer instead of having to answer 100s of emails.
I wasn't fond of it for quite a while but it has grown on me. It's like being at the stadium.
I always thought it was to do with the games being in 3D or something
I got same copy and pasted reply, will continue with this, if we need a petition then so be it. Anybody who prefers the lower angle im sorry but you don't have a true appreciation for gameplay, tactics and football viewing, if you did you'd prefer to be able to see the entire game.
Sorry, meant to agree with that. I'm all for a petition if needs be. It obviously worked when sky changed so itv should wise up as well. What makes them think they are better than sky and the bbc.
The guy replying does have a smug air about him, bit strange, if he continues with the default reply we may need to go over his head at ITV or to Spurs directly.
Also you can change the rating but clicking undo in right bottom corner, however i expect a few dislikes for that post anyway.
Nice, didn't realise that. I know what you mean about the reply's. Maybe hes doing it just to be different but seeing as most of the fans hate that view he should obviously sort it the F out. Seriously, I have not spoken to 1 person who watches and goes to football regularly who likes it. I've obviously read some on here who prefer it but it still seems to me that the majority prefer the BBC and sky angle.
I'm pretty sure our camera angle won an award a few years back as best in the premier league, may have been some daft talksport poll or something but it was definitely voted one of, if not the best camera in the league.
I'm sure this guy at itv will take the stance (similar to some on here) that it gives a more close up/atmospheric/"like your in the crowd" type of feeling. He has already stated in his opinion the higher gantry is to remote (ignoring the fact that sky and bbc use it and also ignoring the fact that the reason they use it is because the fans prefer it). The fact is that it doesn't give you a more match day feeling because when I go to a match I can A) see the WHOLE of the pitch and B) see ALL of the players.
I'm sure the camera men themselves must prefer the higher gantry. The amount of times, in game, where the camera is so close to the players that it is sometimes slow to react to say a quick through ball, the camera actually seems to have to do more work on the lower gantry while at the top most of the pitch is covered in shot without the camera having to move that much. The higher gantry still does not give you the excellent view you get live (depending on searing I guess I'm always park lane which is fine) but I accept that because it's TV and it's will never be as good as watching a game with your own 2 eyes but that's why it pisses me off when they go with the "this angle makes you feel like your at the game" argument because firstly it doesn't and secondly I would go to the game if I wanted that, what I want from games I see in TV is for me to be able to see the match properly
Sorry rant over.
Exactly. Thats pretty much how my reply to him will be as well, particularly the point about when you are at the game you can see the whole pitch so it makes a big difference.

The reality more likely being that the upper gantry is more expensive, and ITV are too tight to pay the extra so that they can afford toss like X-Factor.
