Its not different though, it happens all the timeThey've come out and said "he will not be sold" its a bit different...
How often do clubs say a player isn't for sale only to sell when a good offer comes in?

The same day? They would surely need a cushion between saying it and then selling. There's not much of a cushion at the moment other than to blame Grealish for forcing through the move. And why would they take this route to appease fans when they (the fans) were pretty much prepared to lose him?Its not different though, it happens all the time

Wait, that makes Levy more like Francis from DeadpoolThat’s cos Levy is emulating Charles Xavier in that Hogwarts for mutants place in X-Men. His master-plan is to bring them in as fledglings and uncover their hidden powers.
I think that's exactly what they're doing though. Showing the fans they put up a fight but the player wanted to go and they had no choice. They have to fight for him today before they sell him tomorrow. The same day? They would surely need a cushion between saying it and then selling. I get that av needs to raise about 40M through player sales to comply with FFP. But selling JG for 25 will still leave them substantially short. Would it matter if they are 40M versus 15M short of FFP?

I think the point is if he wasn’t so tight ( or more specifically imo always trying to play games), he would already be our player at a lower fee than we are likely going to be paying now.
I’d associate those tactics more with a board in the shit. They could have walked away from selling him pretty much scot free as they have only just arrived on the scene. Now if they sell him they look like they’ve gone back on their word, causing themselves unnecessary grief.I think that's exactly what they're doing though. Not according to the ITK on here. The new owners of Villa, insisted he wasn't sold before they took over

According to one ITK yes. According to other ITK’s not the case.
They may be both right in some ways. Or one lot of info might be more accurate than another. They don’t all have the same sources.
