the pressure on levy tomorrow to make a signing will be monumental, no doubt this will lead to plan DE&F
I doubt there will be any plan D, E or F. We're not as desperate to sign players as people suggest. We will just keep the squad we had last season. If this falls through we don't sell Dembele unless something special comes up in that position tomorrow.

The longer it goes where Villa don’t officially call it off the more it looks like a ploy to raise the price. If I can work that out so can Levy.

Tables completely turned on Levy in this one. Should have dropped it and moved to other targets as soon as the new owners came in.
Surely it is realistic to assume that Levy can work on more than one target at a time?

Here we are little over 24 hours left, how does that seem to be working out?

I'm not disagreeing but we should have dropped completely.

Right, I found the stuff I was looking for. From Xia before the new guys came in.

6. FFP is a burden and we need to work within the defined parameters over the course of the next 12 months and beyond and as we have done in the previous 12 months

7. To be clear, to meet FFP we need to player trade. No shareholding sale of any size will contribute to meeting FFP. We must reduce costs and increase revenue

8. Selling any size of shareholding in the club will not aid in respect to FFP

That is just what they need to do to pass FFP.

It says nothing about what the new owners might want - if they don't want to pass FFP, and would rather deal with the consequences.

It sounds today, like the new owners don't care about FFP, and will deal with that later.

Big fan of this comment from someone over at VillaTalk...

Sky Sports journos have been playing too much football manager. In what world does a player like Jack, who loves his boy good club, who’ve given him everything he has today, and thousands of adoring fans, get disillusioned because he’s not given a move to Spurs!? Ha ha, it’s nonsense.

So to summerise, they believe Sky Sources that Villa have told Grealish he's not going anywhere, but don't believe for a second that he's pissed off about it.

That turned out well for QPR.

It sounds to me like the new owners just want to slap their balls on the table when Levy won't even worry about unzipping until 4.55 and will call their bluff.

Yeah, it's not looking good. TBH, unless there are any surprise and previously unknown targets out there that are genuine quality then I'd rather we didn't bother at this stage. Just accept that it's been a shit show of a window, learn any lessons where the club have been at fault and move on (yes, I accept that Levy probably won't change the way that he negotiates).

Villa fans acting like they're still a 'big club' shocker.
Can't blame them for that. In many ways, they used to be a comparable club to us but have fallen back tremendously over the last few years. Must be galling.

I am just saying, that every move has a consequence - Villa's new owners maybe looking at the consequence of FFP as a risk they are willing to take to gain promotion.

I am not suggesting that is good or bad - just a business decision they have to make. They may look at it and say we are all in until January, and re-evaluate player sales then. Its a risk - but I suspect they know that, and are willing to take it.
