Leicester paid 20 to 22 mil for Maddison. Who probably had a better season with the same sort of potential. So I don’t blame us for not wanting to pay anymore than 25 mil. Let their chairman keep an unhappy player and see how much he kicks off??
He won't kick off. He's a Villa fan so he's hardly going to refuse to train and sulk for a year. If he doesn't sign for us it'll all be swept under the carpet at Villa and he'll start for them at the weekend, guaranteed.

We're comparing Van der Vaarts with Modrices here to be fair. Maddison very much an out and out 10, whereas Grealish was the 'controller' in a central midfield 3 last season. Comparing purely on goals and assists statistics isn't reflective.

Villa fan or not, he is foremost professional footballer who fancies to play on highest possible tier and won't be happy with his career blocked by lies.

Is that the plural of Modric - doesn't look right somehow

A team of Modrices or a team of Modrics???

He'll be royally pissed off playing Millwall as opposed to the likes of Monaco (if selected of course)

Tbh I think this will get done, in a fashion like how Sissoko was done. We will probably pay roughly 30m in the final hour.

Sounds like we were quoted 25 by the original owners. We offered this yesterday and the new owners said 32. We thought they would negotiate somewhere in between but they have said 32 or nothing. I can’t see it happening now

I can see why they would play hardball at the last minute. We look desperate because we haven't signed any players and they have new owners with plenty of money. Offer them a few million more and they'll probably take it.

Their loss, in the end they need it to go thru much more than we do.

If the previous owner agrees he can go for £25 million then why does his agent not get this in writing?

How would that be enforceable under a different owner? They weren't the ones who agreed to that.

I don’t think he’ll want another season in the championship playing the likes of Bristol on a cold Tuesday night. Especially when he could be playing champions league at a world class stadium. Put your self in his shoes. I would be massively pissed off
