Lets assume we sign him around deadline time. Will he be able to Play on the first match?

I'd say this one's dead and buried - I just hope we have another midfielder up our sleeve as a back-up plan.

Guess he’s talking about Grealish:

ITK from Spursex, Vital Spurs Forum:
Today it's looking like we've seriously screwed up. Tomorrow we might have some relief. At the moment it looks like a mess.

Talksport just about to get into this mess, it sounded like they were suggesting it's still a possibility

Tom Ross (Midland football reporter) nothing ground breaking basically it's up to Grealish, sounds like if he forces a move/hands in a request we'll get him

Then the board can lay all the blame on Grealish for being unloyal and disrupting the squad etc etc.

Either they're selling someone or give zero fucks about FFP and have no intention of meeting the requirements.

If Villa are able to keep Grealish then I really need to try and get my head around what FFP is. If he does stay it seems like owners can just pump money in no questions asked

Sounds like we were quoted 25 by the original owners. We offered this yesterday and the new owners said 32. We thought they would negotiate somewhere in between but they have said 32 or nothing. I can’t see it happening now

I’m not sure you can infer that. Bruce has been talking about Villa’s valuation as recently as this week. And Sky didn’t report that Spurs had been told £25M but that Grealish had. Presumably, his agent tells Levy and the offer comes in with the expectation the deal gets done.

Don't think any Villa fans would begrudge Grealish his move. He has the opportunity to further his career at a top club, play CL football and earn a shit load more money. It rings hollow that the board want to lay the blame on him just to earn favour.
If I was Grealish I would have no problem handing in a transfer request as there is just to much to lose in the enhancement of his career.
The villa board are gonna get a lot of money and are acting completely selfish.

Just to illustrate how horrible SSN actually are. Real just announced Courtois 5 mins ago, right now and I mean now, SSN are talking about Courtois without mentioning the signing being official, at all. Even the yellow banner doesn't have it.

I think two things are at play here - first is, they can sell Grealish in January, and it will still be on the books for this fiscal year. Second, if they fail to sell sufficient players, and continue to operate at a loss - there will be consequences. Its possible the new owners are willing to live with those consequences - if they think it gives them a better chance at promotion.

PSG had to sell before they could release more funds for signings Lucas Moura being annexample of that. I just don't get why there's such a grey area

FFP in the Championship is a very different beast to the PL and UEFA. QPR got fined £40m when they fell outside of it.

The January window is definitely something they have in their back pocket but if we choose to not go back in for him and nobody else does surely that stacks against them when it comes to their review in March.

Really to ensure clubs don't continue doing this a transfer embargo for future window(s) simply isn't enough. I really can't see how they can turn down an offer of c£30m should we go back in tomorrow
