As far as I can tell, no one (reasonable) is going to do anything other than support him.
This new ‘scapegoat’ stuff is nonsense isn’t it?
As far as I can tell, no one (reasonable) is going to do anything other than support him. The concern is only that ITK relating to higher profile targets is limited and the concern is that we won’t add resources in a crucial position because we get in there early with him
Seems like a good buy orherwise
Good footballer. Poch likes good footballers. Therefore, I want him.
I’m not turned by shiny toys; it’s not about individuals but the ‘whole’....think mr pink suggested as much... there’s too much focus on the finished ‘individual’. We don’t exist in that market, so our acceptance level needs to be at a lower peg. Regardless of early ITK I’m happy to see the progress we are making. We’re onto longer term solid based model; Chelsea are imploding as we’re building. ..
But surely the agents of these targets will be shopping their clients around for the best deal the moment we, or any team, enquire? I’m not really sure how one can avoid a bidding war in this day and age. If your client is avalible then your job as an agent is to push him towards the most money + most playing time with the CL as a big bonus. Maybe the bidding war might not be in the public eye but it must go on all the time especially for bigger names players no?Perhaps that's because the higher profile targets need to be protected. Last thing we want is to encourage an early bidding war.
Just out of interest, and without a dog in the fight, who would people prefer that has the same skill set, positions, attainability and price?
Nothing to do with an injury. Even if they both had the same stats per 90, a player doing it over a full season is a safer gamble than someone who played much fewer minutes. It can be dangerous to judge a player on half a season. It's too short a sample size. You don't know if it's true reflection on their ability. I listed a few players in the thread in Spurs Chat, and I'm sure there's hundreds more players, who were great for a few months in the Premier League then quickly turned to nobodies.
Grealish had a very good half to the season this year. He was average at best the previous year with similar minutes and wasn't very good in the Premier League, albeit it he was young and in a bad team.

The most important word in my post you were replying to.......EARLY.
Can’t remember if someone said it but imo if we sell Sissoko and buy Grealish for roughly the same fee then the squad is improved. The bigger names will be coming, I’m sure.
Firstly what position is he expected to play? Am? Cm?
His stats per 90 minutes is what I meant. And the fact he (Grealish) only played half a season should work against him
That's a question only the coaching staff can answer.
I have only seen a small amount of him. However from what I have seen and read he seems able to play as an am as well as deeper. He seems adept at picking the ball up in tight spaces, getting away from the opposition and releasing. He also seems to have short and long passes on his locker, but rarely the final ball before a chance on goal.
From what I have seen he likes to tackle but doesn't like people challenging him.
But as I say I have not seen a great deal of him, and so am interested who else may be available with similar attributes. It seems that poch would like a player with these abilities to deputise eriksen and possibly replace dembele.
1) I didn't know. Doesn't make his season any less impressive.just 3 things concerning Maddison, 1) I believe he did his cruciate in the final game, 2) Grealish literally carried Villa on his return from injury into the play-offs, yet Maddison did very little for a struggling Norwich, and 3) there is a chance the club know of the abuse he gave, Bale and Tottenham via twitter when he was younger, and that he might of chose Norwich over us when he joined from Coventry because he might of not wanted us, due to not liking us.
