Obviously I’m not ITK and not claiming to be as such but I just messaged a mate that’s a big villa fan and grew up with a few of the youth team back in the Gabby days to ask about him.

His words that he saw Grealish’s uncle last week who said Utd were leading the race and that he prefers there :shifty:

Pinch of salt and all that but he does genuinely know quite a few of the players

Interesting tidbit, thank you. Would it be silly of me to ask whether you mean Man Utd, or Newcastle Utd ? Might sound daft on the surface, but Newcastle have been heavily linked. One question that Grealish must pose to himself is the balance between going to a successful team, with a great squad and manager against going to a lesser PL team with a good manager where he is liable to instantly receive more playing time. Playing time is an important thing for him to factor in at this stage in his development.

Never watched him play. Watched this highlight video from a month ago. Looks to have a lot of potential. Good technique and vision.

Just got a feeling about the kid. Bundles of talent and seemed to have sorted his attitude out. Add to that Poch to work his magic. I'm certainly not 'meh' over this one, whilst well aware what else we need.
I wouldnt be so sure he sorted his attitude out judging by the playoff final

Man Utd I did tell my mate that they are 26-1 on skybet so to pile on if he believed it.

Also Hercs funnied my post which makes me feel silly and famous at the same time:whistle:

Different types of player:

Plus he's homegrown, which helps our quota.

Started a little scuffle and also stomped on someone. He could have sent off a few times in that second half.

Pretty similar to Dele and his antics then. Long as he delivers and buys into the team and Poch's training, he'll be fine.

I agree :) but the example we were given was why spend £60m on Pulisic when you can have Grealish for £20m.
Yeah, I mean its no doubt one is way better than the other but I don't think either are a good use of our budget.

Tbh I'm not convinced we need any attacking mids at all so couldn't give a toss about Pulisic. A cheap homegrown backup for Eriksen is fine with me. As long as we get the midfield sorted, all good imo.

To be fair it’s not difficult to stand out in the Villa team... I know they got to the play off final but they’re pretty diabolical to watch.
Well, some players standards drop to the level of the team that they are in. The fact that he doesn't is a bonus.

In my opinion this kid is similar, but inferior, to Maddison

Not thrilled, but then surely the club knows better than I do

Thing is who had really heard of Madison until this season. Grealish has been a known talent for quite a while. I know some kids come on later than others but there is definitely something there for Poch to work with imo.

I was referring to his attitude towards the game and off field behaviour rather than on it. Far more important IMO. Rashness on the pitch will sort itself out - see Dele.

It poses the question of why pursue Pulisic in the 1st place? Say we do get Martial or someone similar (eg Bailey) then it’s going to knock Lamela further down the pecking order. Where else has Lamela looked good? in Eriksen’s position. He’s the ideal cover so as you said, it’s in effect of waste of valuable resources when we already have someone capable of stepping into Eriksen’s shoes.

I disagree. Maddison has been well known for years as a upcoming top talent. We was even heavily linked when at Coventry.

I'm guessing if we were able to get Pulisic for what we thought was a reasonable sum we would have shipped out Lamela, thats the only way that link makes sense to me..

Thats a good point but I dont think either Maddison or Grealish is good enough.
