Sad.
In what way.
One day the Chinese league may have the prestige and players comparable to the champions league but not today.
He has basically gone out to pasture. Might as well have joined the scotish 2nd division. Will destroy him as a player as he will be facing 3rd rate defences. Also the polution in china will probably cut his career short by a couple of years.
Whether it was his decision or who ever his 3rd party owner is he will no longer be recognised as being at the top of his profession.
Goodbye.
Well, I guess it comes down to the is football a job or a hobby argument.
It's more about ambition. People care too much about money than achievement these days which is sad and very fucking dangerous.
It never will as neither will the MLS. Not until they get rid of the CL and make a world series league but until then Europe will be the home of big transfersOne day the Chinese league may have the prestige and players comparable to the champions league but not today.

Also does this transfer may have to do with the fact that Atletico owners are sponsors of the Chinese league
Shit players always go where the money is, the big superstars don't! Not to mention the big clubs aren't skint either and are foreign owned as wellPlayers go where the money is. Guanzou are owned by Alibaba. They are loaded.
The money comes from the viewers. It will take a long time for China or the Mls to overtake the amount of viewers that watch the european teams. Until then the best players will play in europe and the world will watch.
Oh I'm fairly sure he led a reasonably comfortable life with the income he was getting at Madrid. At 29, he would've been able to retire if he has done the right thing with his money. That's why these transfers make no sense to me. If he was robbed of all he is worth, then fair enough. There has got to be only so much a footballer can spend.Hes 29 and they probably offered him a shitload of money. Im not saying what he did is right, because I doubt he would be on pittance at Madrid.

It's all relative. Too us they are extremely wealthy. But they rub shoulders with billionaires and probably feel like paupers in comparrison.
Even in the dressing room one player will have a bentley, the next will have a bugatti, the next will have a yaught, the next will have a private plane and the last will own their own island. They will always be looking for more, it's human nature.
