This should be our guy. I have a feeling he could be great for us. I am hoping.

The form Kane is in now have signing a striker in the mould Martinez redundant. Besides, as pointed out already, he's turning 29 + 3rd party owner = far too exxpensive and too complicated

He'll be 29 a month into next season. £28m? No value in it...
While I agree it probably won't happen, value doesn't mean just sell on. If his (or anyone's) goals propel the side into a CL position then his signing pays for itself - even if it is just for 2-3 seasons. 28m is probably too much for Spurs but they could make back half that selling to Germany or Spain.

Martinez, if MP feels he's the right man, has to be better than a misfiring Soldado and Adebayor. If Kane is out we're a bit stuck and at the moment Poch is working with the fragments of the previous managers' teams.

Since 3rd party will be banned from May, it might be easier to get him as the 3rd party will want to cash in.

I see your point but there is no way Spurs are going to sign an understudy to Kane, who's 29 years old and unprovenin the EPL for £28-30M.

What would be the point in signing him or any other top striker unless you also sign intelligent, creative players to help provide the opportunities for him. We need to address all the AM positions as we don't have enough quality in our front 4/5.

Agreed - we've been there and done that and it was a lot of money gambled for little return. I think we're seeing a shift in policy and Martinez doesn't suit it.
