I just see this has some haggling & moving goal post from Levy to save some money. If we were really interested in him earlier, I expect this still to be done

See Trix's post in ITK forum, one player we're working on but proving difficult, assuming that's Sancho.
I remain hopeful/confident, as Hercules seemed very positive yesterday.

Saw the news about us pulling out. Gutted if true. Maybe City are so pissed off and intend to dig in that we have decided it is too much aggro to go through with the deal?

That tweet doesn't really make a whole lot of sense, shame if it has any truth though.

I can only assume we have backed out of signing him for threat of some kind of tapping up case. Otherwise, if the player is keen, not sure what City can do about it.

Struggling to understand this if true, he's literally one of the best youth players in the country and we've just backed out for seemingly no reason

There's not going to be no reason is there?

Let's hope it's a negotiating tactic to get the fee down.

Tbh Dan just sees comments on web sites & twitter then posts then as his own.

We wouldn't give up when City can't stop him signing for us.

Only way we have is if Sancho has decided against it

I really hope this isn't true. Unless he's being a total dick, to the point that it would disrupt the other kids in the academy, or City have found some terrible loophole, however you look at it this is a no brainer.

Look at Sessegnon and Ibe. The former has never played in the prem and is being talked about as a near £30m player. The latter has done f*ck all and got transferred for £15m last year purely on reputation at youth level, since when prices have gone up massively.

Even at its most basic, this is free money. At its best, we'd be getting one of the best young players in the world in a position where we most lack depth.

City havent signed him on a pro contract as he is not 18 yet, so they cannot claim any sell on clause. If he joins us, it will be money set by tribunal

I put this in a later post.

So my point was that we don't want it to go to tribunal as we dont want them having a sell-on clause but if we can't agree a fee with city then we'll have to wait a year until his scholarship expires.

This is how I understand it.

If we agreed a fee then we wouldn't be including a sell-on clause.

If it went to tribunal then the fee would be set for us but would likely include mandatory sell-on clause.

I think that's right.
