Frankly, unless it's 15 per cent or something, who cares about a sell on clause?

If he's half way decent then we insist on netting off the sell on clause when he's sold, and it only becomes an issue if he's a success. No big deal

Particularly as we're more than happy to benefit from sell on clauses ourselves.

If this kid is as good as everyone says then we shouldn't worry about a reasonable sell on clause.

My two cents: Dan normally seems to get stories from the club itself but lately seems to have at least been trying to work some sources, or other local for info. If it is a club line most of the time the normal Spurs beat writers like Ben Pearce and Ally Gold are right there with the same story.

Last night AliZ said fee was the issue, hertyid says it isn't. This is one where we'll have to wait for an itk to clear it up or maybe it is at a fragile state so they'll be silent while we try to work it out.

Tbh Dan just sees comments on web sites & twitter then posts then as his own.

We wouldn't give up when City can't stop him signing for us.

Only way we have is if Sancho has decided against it

This is nonsense, he doesn't do that.

Dan Kilpatrick is a reputable journo that works for ESPN. He also does the Tottenham Way podcast and is a very sensible and reasonable dude.

Yes he does, he's basically ESPN lyall.

His report on CCV yesterday came just after THFCacdamey & Windy posted it.

He may get the club line on things like the rest of journalists but that's it.

If there is an issue its going to be based on playing opportunities. I don't see Pochettino giving any promises somehow.

Windy on coys:

Dan will have been told that by the club, so who knows if it's true. Massive shame if true, I'm told the player was very keen to come to us so I can't quite work out what the issue was.

If there's any issue, it'll obviously be from City's end. ****s are still smarting that Levy didn't bend over and let them pay what they wanted to for Walker.

Doubtful. It wouldn't have gotten so far if that was the case. It seems to be something between us and City.

We don't normally go to the press to tell them that we have stopped pursuing a player do we? Sounds like we have put it out there deliberately to force City's hand - 'player keen' etc

Of all the remaining targets, weirdly I think this is the one I'd be most disappointed not to get.

The others are all sensible signings for good value - this guy could be a super star that we'd get for peanuts

HY on coys:

This is not about money. Fee was already agreed and he can go to tribunal next year. If Dan's info is right then there must be something else to it.

What's odd about this is the tweet has taken all the ITK that have ref. it so far, off guard, none of them seem to know what the issue is.

Remember that Wednesday night before we signed Davinson where one news report came out that Real Madrid had bid 45 million for him and we all ran in here, slit our wrists together, and bathed in a pool of our own anxiety? Turned out to be nothing. This reminds me of that.

Like I said wait until more than just Dan is saying it.

Could well be true but it's only him running the story and that's after just last night saying it was close

Disappointing of true because he has been so highly rated. Not getting it over the line now, opens up space for others to step in.
Wonder if it's a Kirby type issue, Chelsea soon backed off there didn't they.

Isn't anybody worried that taking this kid would rile up Citeh to be more aggressive towards taking any of our youth prospects?

There should be an unwritten rule amongst clubs to not encourage this kind of behaviour from youth players.

The bottom line is though it may seem a real coup for us short term, long term it does leave a bad taste in the mouth.

Well City already tried with Onomah & Edwards and failed.

Maybe city wanted some sort of first refusal or buyback clause? A sell-on wouldn't make much sense given we've allowed them before.
