Or it just means Pochettino doesn't rate the current crop of CBs

Possibly but then you'd expect more experienced signings if the intent is to sell all our centre backs except Vertonghen. I'd be extremely surprised if our backups are a 20 and 21yr old.

I'd guess (and it is a guess) that if we signed him we'd loan him back, with an option for recall in January. We could even do what we did with the kyles and use one of him and dier for backup for half a season each.

@$hoguN I should point out that this post is entirely uninformed, never even heard that we've got an interest in Lascelles this summer! (obviously our long-standing interest is well-documented)

I didn't actually mean to click the rating as I guessed it was an uninformed opinion on the matter. Sorry to cause confusion, I just have sausage fingers! (Please note I am not actually morbidly obese )

Kaboul is surprisingly quick once he reaches full sprint, but doesn't appear to have great agility or acceleration off the turn. I believe one of the player's said something that would also reinforce this, saying something along the lines that Kaboul was unbeatable in the full field sprints, but that it was more open on the 40 yard dashes.

I remember that West Ham game early on in Ramos' reign when Kaboul was caught upfield, couldn't catch whoever it was that had been played in behind him, and cost us a goal. As you say, once he's built up a head of steam he is fast (and Huddlestone was a deal quicker than many thought when he'd done the same), but he hasn't the fantastic acceleration from a standing start that Ledley possessed.

And for those who missed or have forgotten (how?) Ledley's chasing down of Robben, here it is:

That's one fast CB.

I thought he also played at RB at times, maybe Poch is thinking he can sell Naughton and use this lad as cover if needed as well as an extra CB option

He isn't in Forest's squad for today's game, which fuels the suggestion that something is happening. Doesn't seem to be any other reason he isn't appearing.

He was out with injury for the last friendly, so he still could be injured.

Ah, cheers.

What are they saying the "injury" is?

Virus = definitely a cover up
Ankle knock = probably a cover up
"felt his groin" = Yeah, I bet he did. What else would he do sat at home all day?
"muscle strain" = See above
Bone break/ACL = Probably kosher. Hard to fake those.

Mirror saying Newcastle are in for him. Gone quiet about him from our end. Maybe it was a case of Dier or Lascelles but not both?
