Because he has upside given his age and his nationality.

He is also a very very good player. Even if you only watch him in two games a season (i.e. against us) you could see that. They’re a much lesser side without him.

He's scored/assisted against us quite regularly too. Think it's a bit like Richarlison in that people are judging a perceived attitude issue (which is inaccurate again) rather than his actual ability.

Fantastic player technically, agree with questions over his attitude but he does seem to have matured over the past year or so.
Think he would leave our squad looking a bit bloated, unless there's a surprise departure like Lucas

Genuinely unsure why we’d reject Eriksen in favour of this more expensive, more questionable option. He’s a good player but can’t really say I’m convinced.
It would appear Eriksen doesn’t want to come so pretty sure that renders the comparison null and void I would guess ?‍♀️

Really? So we’ve been told eriksen wants 250k a week…. Plus 30m in bonuses, so cost wise it’s pretty similar to maddison.. maddison is 25 English and in his prime, plus just scored 12 goals 8 assists which eriksen only bettered once in terms of goal involvements in a season.
Maddison will have resale value, and if he smashes it for 3 seasons will have massive clubs wanting him. He’s excellent from set pieces and much more of a goal threat than eriksen these days.

I don't really care about his attitude issue tbh. He wouldn't be the first player we signed that rubbed me the wrong way personality wise that grew on me later. My entire concern is can he/will he do the defensive work required for Conte. It was an issue with him and Rodgers at the start of this past season which resulted in some rumors of discontent between them. Reading up on it sounds like they mended that bridge and he started doing more towards the latter half of the season?

Yeah. He was brilliant against city, scored a very good goal, scored against Chelsea something we didn’t manage, scored against Liverpool with a brilliant goal. He’s a set piece expert and a long range goal threat that we lack

I think it's the right number really. Its essentially 2 for each position. Gil I'm sure will go on loan again.

Kane/Richarlison

I really don't see this happening. Rodgers would arguably walk if he was sold. He is undisputedly their best player. Yes they might need to sell to buy but they have plenty of other players they can move on.

Besides, as much as I agree we need another creative option, I think a player who has the versatility to play in the front 3 makes more sense - and Maddison is not that. Personally I would be looking at a player similar to Kulu's skillset rather than a pure number 10.

Leicester are not entertaining any Maddison talks right now they do like harry winks.
Thanks for the info. However I wanna do it to myself and stay positive on this. If they need to sell to balance their accounts a bit, a conversation may be easier nearing end of window. ?
