If Arsenal are signing Zinchenko and telling him he will primarily be used as a CM, are they also going to drop 20-30m on Tielemans? I mean, it's definitely possible but given he's sitting there waiting it's odd that they haven't made a move yet.

If no-one comes in for Tielemans that definitely works in our favour.

Yeah, the Athletic are reporting that it’s looking possible he might now stay. Could be a tactic to get bids in though I guess???

Of course it's not a gospel source, but Transfermarkt gives Tielemans's current market price as £49.5m

They're never absurdly wide of the mark, although Leicester's financial situation, if genuinely dire, would mean there's likely some room for clubs to haggle there.

Conversely they rate Maddison at £45m which seems about right.
Maddison is worth more than Tielemans, and their contract situations only emphasises that

Am sure Arsenal would
The way Arsenals window has gone, they'll be quoted £20m, offer £25m then end up buying a complete unknown from the Albanian 3rd division and start shouting on twitter they have bought the second coming of Zidane!

pitt-brooke on lwos live now says hes not been able to dig up anything concrete at all on this
Probably won't become concrete, or any other move for that fact, until we sell/loan 3 or 4 others first. Doubtful we see another signing until August.
But I'm fine with that because we normally don't see one until August!

I imagine it's pretty delicate on the Leicester end currently and doubt either side would want to bring it up at an early stage.

I know it's greedy of me, but I'd like us to finish the window off with Maddison and Bastoni. I don't think that's too much to ask.
Haha if we did that then my god I may implode.
I don’t even want bastoni but it’s purely for the statement of intent.

We would all like that, but we need to be realistic - both the clubs and the players need to accept, and there’s a point (ie value) where it no longer makes sense to pay the money.

Im chilled from now on.

Id love those players you mentioned, for sure. But if we don’t get them (which is likely the case) I won’t be down. We’ve had a great window. The squad is transformed.

Outgoings, and getting fair value for them, are arguably as (or nearly as) important now

Ally Gold on Maddison in his latest video:

At the moment it doesn't look possible and Tottenham is shutting down all those rumours, but "things can change fast" and "we should keep an eye on him" because "he was told otherwise too".

Interestingly worded. Also makes it quite hard to know either way, as even if we were in for him the club would probably still be shutting down the rumours too to avoid any potential Diaz situation!

makes it sound like it’s possible but we want to keep this well out of the press and have as little noise as possible regarding this.

This is one to keep an eye on as the window progresses.

We like him, he likes us and would like to join but it's not an easy deal to do.

He's their best player IMO, only has 2 years left on his contract and they're in desperate need of money. He is likely to fetch more then Tielemans so from a financial perspective, it makes the most sense to sell him. Rodgers doesn't want to lose him but their current situation means his opinion is basically void. Now that all sounds positive but they're currently very reluctant to sit down with us and I imagine they're trying their best to sell Tielemans first. However, they need to get a move on and if nothing looks like materialising with that, then they may have no option but to sit down and negotiate with us.

I must add that we have options for the creative mid, there are a few players we are looking at and I think most on here would be very happy with bringing any of them in.

The obvious pros for Maddison are being homegrown whilst also being proven in the league.

As mentioned, this is one to keep a close eye on. Leicester are slowly being forced into a corner and whilst we have the money available, we will definitely take advantage of teams who are struggling.

I haven't seen it. What did he mean by unworkable?
Me neither.

We've currently got (IIRC) almost an entire team of British players. How can we not have enough home grown? How many do you need?

Forster,
Tanganga, Rodon, Davies,
Spence, Dier Sessengnon,
Winks, Skipp
Kane

Winks, Rodon, tanganga are going.
Davies and dier don’t count as HG in Europe.

Certainly feels like this one has legs. I think it'd be a great signing if we could pull it off.
