P.S. I think his interviews are a lot more open and heartfelt than the majority of players. I like listening to him (not so much seeing his fashion choices :D)

If we had signed him in the summer it would have been a 10/10 window

hopefully Conte or whoever made the call not to go in for him reflects on the performance he put in today

Not sure anyone said we made a call to not go for him did they? Think Leicester didn’t want to sell…

He’s a phenomenal player. Add him and our midfield and attack would have everything it’s already good but with a Maddison addition it would be droolworthy.

Maybe not but if you put the bid in perhaps unsettle him a bit you don't know - a player who would make a real difference - we are so passive in the market
“Passive”? Can you explain in what way we were passive this past window? There are certainly a few words to describe this last window, and that is not one of them, for me.I think the most critical one can be, is to say we maybe two players short of what would have been ideal. But my goodness, that is the most ‘agressive’ we have been at the start of a window. Not sure what expectations you have and demand, for recruitment, but I can’t really objectively view our window the same way you so. Hence, I’m genuinely interested in why you think that?

With Vio here we could also use his set pieces, we are good at corners now but direct free kicks could use a specialist. Not to mention everything else he brings. Will end up in a top 4 club for sure.

I really hope there’s been a meeting or two about shifting our sights from zaniolo to Maddison.

Agree. I don’t think he needs to play only as a classic No. 10 either. I’ve seen him pop up often tucked in off the right this season to great effect.

Looking at him last night he seems to have stepped up in both his game and his attitude.

I really think he would elevate our squad and give us a genuine #10 option (I know Conte isnt a fan of a traditional #10 but surely he appreciates a plan C in certain games) and another very strong RWF option to compete with Kulu (who could even drop back to RWB if Conte thinks Doherty and Spence arent ready).

I thought in the summer we had 3 areas to address that would improve the first x1 we got one of them
1 a forward Richarlson does that no problems
2 a midfield player who offers something different on the ball we signed Bissouma a good player but we now have 4 midfield players all of which are a bit similar and none of which give us an option
3rd a right back we signed Spence but Conte doesn't want him or trust him whatever - but its a problem area and we haven't solved it

The signings were all ok as such but to take a risk and go for the likes of Maddison for example who ticked all the boxes in midfield at a time when we are a strong with Champions League and Leicester were skint - that's what I mean by being passive force a move unsettle a player - I think we left ourselves short again and this is a big season for us Champions League is going to be tough to get into and by not showing some gonads in the market could be the difference and frankly it don't make a lot of sense when you have lashed out on a top ground top manager and have world class forward line you leave yourselves short in two key positions and yes I know you only have so much money but its short sighted not to take risks in my view

Maddison is the closest we'd get to another Eriksen. I find his interviews refreshing as I like his honesty. I'd love him at Spurs.

I haven't been a massive fan of his, however he does seem to be maturing into a fine player now.
One thing we do lack is a player from midfield who can score a multitude of goals.

I wonder how much interest we had in Malinovsky because I reckon had we had a player like that to come on, we would have won today and we'd not be looking as wasteful.

I've never rated him much but even I can appreciate how much he has improved and he looks a really good player now. Not sure where he fits into our system though which is the only concern I'd have (and why I doubt we will sign him)
