Shame. I'd rather him than either of our supposed preferred options.
I agree Maddison is the tried and tested player alot of people want as he's done it in the league already but he's so far away from being a "Conte" type player. Zaniolo on the other hand is basically what you would describe a Conte attacking player to be.

Apart from Maddisons set piece skills I think I prefer Zaniolo, mainly because he fits out style much better than maddison does.

Alot of talk about creativity or the lack of. But when you actually look back on the amount of goals we scored and out xg in the final run in we didn't exactly struggle for goals did we? The patterns of play Conte has drilled in creates more than enough chances.

The games we struggled in I think were more to do with nerves and fighting the mental battle than actually not being able to create chances naturally.

Think he’s a really good player but just not the right fit for us. Zaniolo and Paqueta look like they’d fit straight into our formation a lot easier than Maddison. And at the reported 60m no chance

We certainly scored lots of goals, we did also struggle in a few games to break some teams down. I trust Conte though and I’m sure he knows what kind of players he wants. Having a preseason is going to make a big difference I think.

Conte is building a squad, people need to stop complaining about Zaniolo and stating the reasons we shouldn't be buying him over the other options.

Conte will have his reasons as to why Zaniolo is the preferred choice out of the three.

He believes he can play the RWB role, as well as adding more competition to the CM role whilst also being able to provide more competition to the front three.

Bringing in one player who can potentially play three roles is extremely clever. The way the deal will probably be structured also ensures more money is available for a new CB should one we want become available.

It's all about building a complete squad and I'm pretty sure Conte is far better positioned than we are to decide who we need.

There is no doubt that if Conte can unlock Zaniolo's potential, he would be an unbelievable addition.

We like all three players, but Conte wants Zaniolo and from the players he's brought in since joining us, it's difficult to criticise his decision making thus far.

Just enjoy the ride ??

Hard to see where Moura fits in, if Zaniola can cover all the same positions

Yes, people need to realize that we are building a real squad, not a Fifa one.

Our current attacking players are world class, so we can take a limited risk here with a player that can provide flexible cover and provide a financial upside if we can get him to perform in the prem.

Good to see that we are keeping the powder dry for a CB. That's a position where we should not take any more risks.

Sounds like the bid was leaked from either Leicester or Maddison's camp and Newcastle aren't happy about it. Wonder if it's to try and flush us or other bigger clubs than Newcastle out.

It’s a shame because if Conte was to move on in 12 months, we will be after a player in his mould, and he would be the perfect fit. However, I do understand you can’t think like that. If it’s Zaniolo, it’s Zaniolo. Exciting times. ?

Or Conte could stay for five years. Let's have a bit of positivety.

And if he goes we can sell him to Conte.

Must say, I do find it rather baffling that he thinks he can play the RWB role for the primary reason he never looks comfortable playing along the touch line and always likes drifts central. It would be a very different conversation compared to Perisic for example. CM on other hand would suit him well. Of course tho, who am I to judge if that’s what he plans to do. Not that we need another RWB with Lucas now playing there as well.

I think nobody can really say that currently Zaniolo isn’t the weakest of the three options ability wise but like you say, if Conte thinks he can unlock his potential then he could quite possibly be better then the others. Although personally I still think Paqueta has another level to his game as well. Ether way your complete right in that Conte and especially Paratici will know him very well and if they think he’s the best fit then who can argue.

For some reason I’ve never really been that fussed over Maddison so really wouldn’t mind missing out on him tbh. I don’t think I ever really saw him as a Spurs player or a Conte player. I know most people wanted him more then anyone. Ether way, exciting times.

If I were him I’d entertain going there but I’d want to know who else they were buying. They desperately need a striker. Until they got some better attacking options in I would probably hold my horses.

If we let Maddison to go Newcastle I’ll be sick. He’s a trillion times better than Zaniolo.

Fuck that's a lot.

But as many have said on here it's not about who's the better overall player, it's the best player for the role Conte wants them to play, and if Antonio thinks Zaniolo is better suited for that then that's what matters.

Yes he is left footed.

I'd love us to get Zaniolo please please please he is similar and the most close player to Dembele in that he is extremely powerful great dribbling skills impossible to knock off the ball...he is better in front of goal .

Maddison I'm not at all convinced with he remains me of David Bentley...also we have Kulu who can play 10 if needs be.
