I think in order for the transfer window to fully kick off in the premier league to other clubs outside of Man City, it needs a transfer to happen internally from one premier league club to the other.
I think in order for us to start our transfer dealings we need Man City to do us a favour and get Milner from Villa, this will generate a triangle dealings between the 3 clubs of us, City and Villa, giving Villa funds to go and get 2-3 players.
From reports recently, it has been rumoured that they're interested in Robbie Keane, Jenas, Hutton and Bentley.

If they were to purchase a few of our players, this will start the process of us having more funds available, and able to go and get replacements and improvements to the players we have lost, and positions they play in.

So, heres hoping that Man City do the deal, and we can start our dealings before time starts to tick away.

If Milner goes to Villa I'd expect Ireland to go the other way rather than them come in for JJ.

This one will drag on though.

Particularly if Villa are trying to sell Milner to themselves.

I can't believe they are bidding 30m for him. 1) he's not that good and 2) they've got central midfielders (where he excelled last year) coming out of every conceivable orifice.

If I was Harry I'd be asking them if they want De Jong anymore.

They actually bid £20m for him which has been rejected, but they said they wont go above £24m. Still not worth that much. I'd say £15m tops really.

But then that's the difference when you try and sign a player who is considered highly valuable to a team. You end up paying way over the odds.

If cesc is worth £40 million how is milner £30 million, fair enough its city bidding for him but he is not a very good CM just overrated in that position because he's english and pundits are looking for a new messiah to be the new gerrard or fat frank

and he isn't going to play on the wing or in a free or playmaker role as they have those position, this transfer is going to be like swp to chelsea, and end with him on the bench but not sold since he is homegrown

If the offer is 20 to 24 mil Villa should take it quickly before City turn their attention to someone a darn lot better.

I'm kind of surprised that Mancini wants Milner that badly. I thought he had more sense than that.

Presumably one of more significance and weight than Titus Bramble to Sunderland...

The 25 man squad and the home grown quota, for the Premiership. I'm not sure of his age without doing research but if he's under 21 his stat. won't count towards the 25 anyway.

Milner is a worker, and a Jack of All Trades, though you should never pay over twenty million for a utility player.

I do like Milner, has been very consistent the past couple of seasons but the prices being mentioned are just ridiculous. If he was to move for £30mill, £4mill less than David Villa then that really is mental.

How much would we sell Lennon for? not less than £25m I'd guess.

It's all relative to how much a player means to a club. To Villa, Milner is very important.
