Given all that is going on at Citeh and with Liverpool in some turmoil couldn't we be brash enough to revise our shopping list to include Bellamy, Santa Cruz and perhaps a cheeky bid for Gerrard? Well we are after all supposed to be getting shot of a number of players again in this window and if any of the rumours come to fruition we could finance such purchases with the sales of Pav, Bentley, Hutton, Keane et al!

Let the sales commence

Im still wondering when the club will announce the Sandro deal, surely if it has been done the club would announce it.

Perhaps they are still sorting out the work permit.

Or, maybe they will just wait for 1 Jan to announce it.

Has the OP just suggested we bid for Gerrard? That is probably one of the funniest things I've ever read on here. Jeepers.

One thing to keep in mind with City rejects is that they've been given 100k+ wages
and aren't willing to take a cut, at least not as much as is needed to keep in line with our highest paid stars. I would stay clear off most of them.

Gerrard would obviously have been offers than ours if Liverpool have to sell,
it's a no go.

Babel I wouldn't mind although I don't think we need him. It Bellamy that i'm worried about.

I don't know who we want. We've not got a bad or unbalanced team.

I think come late Jan unless the ituation dramatically improves with King or Woody then we might be getting a 3rd/4th choice CB.

Gerrard is shit, have you not seen him this season?

Messi, Ronaldo or nothing.

We dont need anyone from City, they need exactly what we need - a CB, step forward Mr Upson.

Well, if keane/pav go, which (IMO) looks likely, then a
striker (chamahk, RvN?) would be in order. I think we'll
be needing a CB to cover for the never ending injury
problems to JW and Ledders and Bassong's month away.
Could we loan in a CB?
Then, if the the much anticipated Sandro turns up, then
that would be pretty much it as far as my untrained eye
can see.

And as for Liverpool, well they aint got anything that I like - I like Kuyt for his work ethic, but he wouldnt get in our team, and we aint ever going to consider putting a bid in for their 2 main players.
The rest of Liverpool - meh...

I think looking at Torres, his attitude against Pompey indicates that he wants to play for a big club. I think we should bid.

Players we are likely be looking at are:
No.2 as backup to Gomes
CB
Sandro
Thats it.

Why I don''t put this in the same message I don't know:

Players going will just be Pav - IMO.

Keane wont be allowed to go until the Summer and No-one will put in a decent enough offer for Bentley.

Hard to say on the people who will leave. Pav is almost certain to go as there is enough interest from abroad.

Bentley is the next most likely but the teams with the money like Man City and Villa are unlikely to be interested. Possibly Sunderland or a team in Spain but I don't see it in January.

Coming in I guess we have Sandro but we shouldn't buy anyone else unless it's a genuine short term fix like Naybet was or a player who will play a part for the foreseeable future.
