Yes and if his fingers got sore and he was struggling for something to talk about he could talk about:

our amazing comeback against our arch rivals
David Bentleys wonder goal
the fact we have picked up 4 points in the last two games
the fact we sacked Ramos after a year in charge
the fact we are completely ditching the DoF system
the fact that we got rid of alveraz and poyet too
the search for assistants for Harry including ex players
the announcement of a 60,000 seater stadium
the record financial results just announced

Hardly straining for stuff to talk about when it comes to the club at the moment now are we?

Nearly all of that was covered in the same interview! It was a 6 minute interview!

Best to just change hands if his fingers get sore.

It takes approximately four second the say the line:

"we dont plan on spending big in January"

I would've preferred a 5 minute 56 second press conference personally.

if we're still in the relegation zone come Jan 1 but near enough to safety so it's not a lost cause (which is a very likely scenario IMHO) we'll have to spend a considerable amount, whatever anyone says now.

Relegation would be so damaging on so many fronts that it would be a case of 'millions-wise, mega-millions foolish' if we skimped at that juncture, and went down with a healthy bank balance.

What if we're 16th or 17th? We are only one win and a draw away from jumping our of the drop zone, and if we can keep up present form I think its very likely that in January we'll only bring in a few players to keep us steady, and then worry about major squad additions next summer.

It would be nice to see us get some good bargain deals though. A few suggestions from me:

Appiah - free
Owen - £5m? (still to renew his contract)
Parker - £4m?
Bridge - £5m?

Good shout for Parker and Bridge.

Isn't Appiah a free agent? There must be a negative reason for that, surely he has been approached by clubs and then they don't follow it through. I'm wary of him.

Other people have mentioned Owen and he certainly could still be a good player, injury permitting, aren't his wage demands going to make this a comnplete non starter?
