Can you really see us getting him in January? I really really would love him at the club. I think he would be a breath of fresh air and would work hard for Poch. He would also provide us with some much needed pace too. It would work brilliant on the counter attack, like the way we played against arsenal. However there are two problems I see... The first being Southampton. I really don't think we will offer enough money for them to budge, plus I have a feeling they are completely against selling to us full stop. What do you think on that? The second problem I see is Manchester City. I've read reports that they want him due to him being a homegrown player. Him being a Burnley lad as well would make him want to go back up North over London right? I also think Man City will offer more money than us and Southampton will accept their offer and not ours. Finally I could be nit picking but they even have his number 9 shirt available due to the loan of Negredo! I just have this horrible Spursy feeling this one could end in disappointment! If this was the case, does Pochettino have alternatives to him for that sort of role he plays? (Left/Right Wing forward... Can also lead the line too, useful secondary position he can play)

I'd be quite surprised if any young English player would go there now, after seeing the careers of Adam Johnson, Micah Richards and Jack Rodwell, to name a few, virtually grind to a halt as they hardly ever saw game time.

The annoying this is, I think he will. I think they actually need a player like him as well. In wide areas they are actually quite limited besides Navas. Ahh ok nice one! I agree on MS I can see him going to big club next summer IMO. PSG maybe to replace Cabaye if he moves on.

On J-Rod, do you see us most likely getting him from the Saints in Jan? You think they will accept our offer/be willing to sell etc? and you think he would want to come to us?/choose us over someone like City etc, if their interest was real?
