If we want todibo will be a lot easier to do well into the window . That’s the only doubt ange doesn’t see a benefit in that and wants bodies in asap.
Always a blimin’ catch. Thanks WLB. Hopefully we either do it the difficult way early or we hope that option 2 is of similar quality in the end.

If we can get him, surely we wait the extra couple of weeks. It would be better in the long term to wait and get the preferred target.

It depends, maybe they view the alternatives just as highly, or as close as hardly makes a difference. For the first time in a long time I trust the recruitment team (and Don Paratici) to make the right call. No doubt we need bodies in ASAP to try to keep us in the mix and central back is the most vital position right now.

If we don’t believe the drop off to a second choice like Dragusin is that big then it makes sense to just go for the second choice.

However if we feel the drop off is pretty big we should just throw extra money at the Todibo deal and do it as fast as we can, even if it takes a couple of weeks longer.

My only concern with waiting for him is if we don’t end up getting him. We’ve heard this before where we need to wait and they end up going elsewhere.

Depends on the reason behind the delay of course, but if he’s waiting for a better offer, he’s not the one for us.

Just get Dragusin and stop wasting time, People wanted the other guy from Germany over VDV and that worked out fine.

If Todibo is who Ange wants we should be chucking everything at getting him early. We should be more ambitious than hanging around waiting for stuff to become easy. When Liverpool wanted VVD they threw the kitchen sink at it and got it done quickly, and it stood them in good stead for years.

I think the goalie situation in the summer set the tone going forwards.
We didn't want to fuck about with Raya (who maybe wasn't as keen to come) so switched to big Vic to get things done quicker.
I think Ange wants things done quickly and will adjust as needed to make that happen.
If he's happy, I'm happy.

Just trying to think why the deal may be easier to do later in the same window?

As in not disagreeing with the ITK but just trying to think of what benefit there is to anyone it being a little bit later it is in the same window? I could see it if it was a case of waiting till the summer as Nice will have longer to find a replacement…

Nah, we've seen this happen before. Too many moving pieces to wait around and hope we get him. We risk losing out on other good targets and then getting no one again.

Get a CB in early. We've been linked to a couple of good options. If they are deemed capable of playing well in Ange's system then job done. Marginal top trumps rarely works out as being worth it in football outside of the Messis and Ronaldo.

Sort it and move on.

Imagine the uproar on here when we’ve been strung along by ratcliffe for the whole of January. Ending up with Davinson Sanchez on loan from Galatasaray on the 31st of January
