I paused the replay on Sky+ and his ankle went right over, looked rather nasty. It was a bit like Bale's.

I think he could be out for a while. Does anyone know 'owt?

twisted ankle the Beeb are saying in their match report. Hope it's not anything more and that all his bones and ligaments are still intact.

Aye, he's going to be out for a while, I fear. Feel sorry for the lad, just when it looks like he's really picking up his game, and starting to push for an England place, this happens. Ohh well, as least it wasn't before the CC final. Maybe he'll be back in time for the UEFA Cup final.

Because Zokora is a great athlete, and super fit. He's just terrible at anything that involves footballing talent.

that's a point...

EDIT: I'm sitting here asking myself whether I'd rather have malaria or a twisted and potentially broken or sprained ankle. Of course, the answer depends entirely on how serious the malaria is, as there are several different degrees of seriousness.

Hmm, don´t really know the different effects and levels of malaria.. but judging from the way Zokora was/is/always will be ?? effected then i´d go for the ankle injury please!

And SS57, always wondered about how you actually do scream in cyberspace, and if nobody hears you, are you actually screaming then?

I'm screaming, no-one can hear me.

The 'malaria' bollocks was done to death last year.

Juande Ramos reported that Jermaine Jenas twisted his left ankle against PSV on Thursday night.

The midfielder went down clutching his leg after he was caught by a challenge by Edison Mendez after 63 minutes of our 1-0 loss in the UEFA Cup Round of 16 first leg at the Lane. He was stretchered off and immediately replaced by Tom Huddlestone.
The injury certainly puts in doubt his participation against West Ham on Sunday with the second leg against PSV following soon after on Wednesday, March 12.

"He twisted his ankle, so we will have to wait 48 hours to see how he improves," reported Head Coach Juande last night. "But those injuries sometimes take longer than expected. We'll know more in 48 hours."

Meanwhile, Juande said Darren Bent was missing from the squad against PSV due to illness. "He's not been able to train normally and therefore unable to play," he said.

Malaria KILLS over a million people a year.

An ankle sprain is uncomfortable, but with rest and treatment - we could see the boy back in months if not weeks.

I'd deffo opt for the ankle if God (or Mr Nicholson as we know him) gives you the choice!
