JJ has to produce this season like he did last season, below is a list that shows games, goals, assists, total and averages for a selection of the Premierships top attacking midfield players. Lampard has been ommitted because his numbers are stupid but you will see that JJ's productivity in the vital area's is right up there with the best.

Player.........Games....Goals....Assists.....Total.....Per Game

Fabregas........34........2...........11..........13.........1-2.6..
JJ..................24........6...........2............8..........1-3....
Barton...........33.........6...........4............10........1-3.3..
Cahill.............17........5............0............5.........1-3.4..
Gerrard..........35........7............2............9..........1-3.9..
Scholes..........29.......6.............1............7.........1-4.1..
Nolan.............31.......3.............0............3.........1-10.3.

Add in that JJ does more defensively than certainly Scholes, Nolan and Cahill then I would say that the boy is doing pretty bloody well and we clearly need him in our team.

Also, Nolan and Cahill play at the top of a 3 man CM, which means they are at a distinct advantage for scoring and assisting. If JJ played there, he'd easily score in double figures each season.

What is this thread about? Has JJ been linked to another club? If so, which one?

I can't see anything except a general discussion on JJ's merits?

It's no coincedence that we were around 10th/11th before Jenas returned & he came back & scored a load of goals and was basically the missing link we needed. Without him we wouldn't have finished 5th. These are the facts. But some of our knuckle dragging fans are too ignorant to see it.

JJ's pass cpmpletion for his type of player is more than acceptable, it is virtually the same as Zokora's who makes virtually no offensive passes.

Zakora was slightly better at 83.7 % which is surprising I want Jenas to dribble with the ball a little bit more what Zakora does in that sense. I think he sits too deep when he plays with Zakora and does a carrick like role which he isn't suited to.

Pass completion isn't a very useful stat. John Terry's is 89%, but he's hardly a good passer of the ball. Number of passes is a better stat as it at least tells us something about how busy a player is.

You would be surprised at how good a passer of the ball Terry is,I could'nt believe how well he passed the ball in the F.A. cup replay at the lane.

he invariably plays short passes out of defence though, often to any one of the 4 centre mids they have playing at any one time.

If you are comparing pass rates among peers. Jenas' will probably be better than, say, Carrick, as he tried less ambitious stuff, but Carrick is the better passer, realistically.

Ergo, that particular stat can take is shitty fat fucking face for a meaty shit.
