If we signed Moutinho and nobody else, I'd still consider that a massively successful window.

What is wrong with somebody coming on & sharing the fact that there whispers within WHL about a player who could possibly be coming in? I remember a similar situation a few years ago, on an evening of European football, when there were whispers circulating around WHL about a certain fat & jolly Dutch man about to be given his marching orders. What happened that night again?

I don't know that it is true or bullshit. All I was saying that there was nothing wrong with somebody coming on to say that there whispers circulating that the player was there. He was only sharing info with others, where's the harm in that??
P.S.. May I enquire as to how you know he wasn't there? Although I doubt it very much myself, is there any reason he couldn't have been in one of the directors boxes without any supporters knowing about it?

Back on topic. I'm curious if Holtby might have a little bit of an effect on Moutinho were it to happen.
Holtby has the ability to play as a deep-lying playmaker or as an advanced/attacking midfielder.
I'm curious as to how AVB would view Holtby's long-term prospects. I haven't seen enough to suggest that Holtby has the sprawling range of passing that Moutinho has, but if you put a guy like Holtby next to Dembele in front of Sandro in a midfield 3, you have a really, really good pairing that can create a lot of space for goal-scorers as well as create goals for themselves. It'd be quite the sight.
So that being said, maybe if Holtby happens, we shouldn't be too distraught over potentially not getting Moutinho. The instant pay-off would not be felt this season, but as a 22 year old coming in on a free, that could be a really great addition to our squad and to our club via potential future sell-on value.
