It's Sports Witness and that is nearly 24 hours old, at least let the Star pick it up and run with it before your bollocks fall out of your boxers.

Has Levy been suprised by the prices this summer or are we feeling the pinch at the mo, Championship teams are outspending us. The Champions League is clearly not the difference maker it once was.

But....it was on twitter...so...it must be true...:cautious:
You're probably right, I ordered my flying unicorn from a company on Twitter yesterday, batteries included.

Now I have decided to offer my bullish onions on this, it'll probably come true (Joao Mario, not the Unicorn)

Champion's League football is. It's just that his penny pinching is now starting to become a hindrance, rather than a masterstroke.

I use to be in full support of his way of doing things, but it's now run it's course and he has to adapt somehow.

Of course championship teams may be spending more than is, but if we where signing the same quality of players that they where, everyone would be saying it's a waste of money.

We have to look at it in context, out first XI is pretty damn good, and trying to sign a player that is better than the players we have means we are having to look on the £50million+ bracket. Which has all the other "elite" clubs shopping in that range too.

We may not sign anyone, and I would be extremely disappointed if we don't, but we can't use the excuse that smaller teams are spending money, as we are looking at a different Calibre of player.

I think it's more to do with the billion pounds we just spent building a new stadium and training ground. When Levy said that spending that much on infrastructure would not affect transfer budget he was clearly being generous with the truth. How can it not affect what we can spend on players? It has been affecting us for years now too, with a NET spend of £40M over the last 8 windows in a period when TV money has tripled and we've spent less than any other premier league club.
