A lot of Newcastle fans are demanding that the club get rid of Barton.

All I can say is thank god we never signed him.

I honestly can't believe that some Spurs fans were saying he was just what we wanted, to add a bit of bite to the midfield.

He's just a prize **** on whom his undoubted talents are tragically wasted.

He's a nasty, racist thug and not the kind of role model we want for our younger generation and they did say on the radio (BBC) this morning that it is unlikely that he will play football at Newcastle again or ever on a professional level again.

Sometimes there is justice. Let's hope that no club, anywhere, will ever want him again.

Unfortunately I can't see that happening. Football is simply a business now and most chairman don't care whether their players are good role models or not. Just look at Lee Hughes.

That CCTV footage is really interesting:

i) is Barton the main aggressor?

ii) the camera clearly pans to follow the fight. Is it somehow programmed to do this? Or is a camera operator watching and following the action?

i) Yes

ii) Someone is controlling the CCTV cameras from a control centre.

Cheers - Bonjour!

I seem to remember some highly critical press reports recently about the state and usefulness of CCTV, and the number of cameras that were not working at any one time. It appears that, on this occasion at least, there was an operator, and he wasn't snoozing.

I really hope that he gets kicked out of the football league. I know this is unlikely becuase of the money the Barcodes have invested, but he is a disgrace.

Perhaps the FA should refund Newcastle and simply ban him from football in any guise forever. I would be happy with that.

Not sure what good Newcastle sacking him is... Will Barton be available on a free, once he's out of prision ?

i'm sure he won't have any problems finding a club

When Houllier was in charge at Liverpool he put in at least one offer for Barton. Quite a few City fans would have been very happy for him to be sold.

It's very hard to credit that he's only got a suspended sentence for his attack on Dabo. I suppose the bright side is that he's almost guaranteed to assault someone else in the next two years.

At the moment im working at a company called sub-4 which specialises in othortics (basically, corrective innersoles) for athletes. The company is going to be big in the next couple of years and already has many big clients, Bolton wanderers, newcastle united, several other footballers and athletes in varying fields. Anyway back to my point...The lab technicians there said that barton is an arsehole and definately has some kind of problem. The head guy there (who is to be repected as he was the first man ever to run a mile in under 4 minutes indoors, and has since spent 20 years doing what he does) had the orthotics thrown at him by barton one day when he was ay newcastle because he (barton) put them in when he was advised not too and got blisters. wanker.

A guy I worked with for a while knew a brother of his a few years back from working with Cream (the nightclub) oop north as a promoter, Barton's brother was involved in Cream in some way or other. He said that the whole family was a bit of a nasty mess who would often resort to violence as a first resort and reckoned themselves as the local mafia or something. Apparently before he got his break in football he was a right little toe-rag in his teenage years too, so he's not going to change, it's his stock.
