I cant believe your comments Kendall. Sounds like he could be a terrorist, but as a footballing fan you wouldn't mind as long as he plays well.

Joey Barton is a racist thug. He doesn't belong in the Premier League. It isn't a one of offence, but several that he is guilty of. I couldn't care less what he does on the football pitch. He's a disgrace, and i would be utterly ashamed if he were wearing our colours. And to hear him talk about how kids can learn from him was a disgrace. What, so kids can learn that its ok to be a criminal as long as you pay your dues and say sorry?

Hmm, perhaps if my thread was about Barton the man and not Barton the footballer.

I don't give a shit what he's like off field really, he's been excellent since his return.

Not really, as it was my thread in the first place and purely about Barton's footballing performances since his return. He's looked better than any one of our midfield bar Modric but he has been playing as a 2nd striker.

So you can take your face for a shit with your little diagrams.

If you didn't want any responses to YOUR thread, you should have had it locked when you made your original post in it so no-one could debate it with you.

I'm not the only one who does care how he behaves and the impact it has on youngsters and society in general and I don't think he should be playing top flight football, however good a footballer you might think he is.

You made a point. I made a point in response, as did others. At least I wasn't rude or nasty. If anything I tried to inject a little humour into the thread with the diagram.

And, yes, I do think you are missing a very important point here on a moral level.

I find it very strange that Gabriel Agbonlahor hasn't made any comment at all. Mud sticks, if Barton is really not guilty why doesn't Agbonlahor come out and say that Barton hasn't said anything racist?

He was certainly accused of making racist comments or chimp noises to Atouba. Along with his goal against the Barcodes, chinning that evil **** was the best thing Toobs did.

He is an almighty cock of Ron Jeremy proportions.

That is all I have to say on the matter.

Good day.

He is probably the one footballer, I'd have no problem with, if he never played the game again.

I know you shouldn't judge families, but his brother is up for murder, he is a thug, and possibly racist at that.

Just a fucking horrible pikey family, which this country has far too many of.

That tackle on Etuhu was disgusting. That was done in full view of the Ref and the Ref did nothing, neither did the FA. Useless.

I think most youngsters of all ages think hes a **** anyway......

Yes hes a thug. Yes I would not want him playing for Spurs, but having said that I do belive he should be given the chance to redem himself, I think its only a right. However judging what he did to that villa player I cant say I trust him to take this second, and last chance.

Warren Barton his brother and also an ex-football player is in prison for murder, or at least in acusations off. But this should have no relation to Barton himself. He dosent deserve to continue playing football and I am supprised Newcastle let him do so. However all the implications which this will have on his life, from football chanting ect. Is already a big punishment. One more slip up tho' and your off..

Reputation aside I wouldn't say Barton is a great footballer, not consistant enough for starters, nothing stands out bar his work rate but that is too touch and go... comes up with a goal against Fulham all of a sudden he's brilliant. Don't think so. Slightly better than average at best. L.Diarra, Huddlestone, Zoko (hmm maybe zoko) Flamini, Silva, Muntari all better players that played in the PL past couple seasons. So i'm confused as to why its important for him to stick it to the man...he's no different. Two bob _____ like bonsnich...nothing more fuck him.

You know what, 80% of me agrees with the anti-Barton comments. Ever since he put a cigar out on some youth team player, there have been incidents on and off the pitch which would suggest he is a nasty piece of work. But when I see him interviewed, he often comes across as intelligent and candid. HE clearly has an anger management problem that is exacerbated with alcohol and I wouldn't want him at Spurs or next to me at the pub but I do sense a lot of irrational sanctimony on this site, such as the reference to his brother. Gordon Ramsay's bro is addicted to H. My bro's an Evertonian.

But Kendall's original point about him playing very well is correct from what I have seen him and but for the Agbonlahor incident which wasn't followed up by the Villa player, he has behaved well. I do believe people can turn over a new leaf and people espousing the 'lock him up and throw away the key' rationale are guilty of double standards. I am not standing up for him, I don't really like him but everyone deserves a second chance and he is doing well, for now.

The references to his family are usually made because there is the suggestion that the whole clan are a nasty piece of work. There is also a big difference between drug addiction and being involved in burying an ice axe in somebody's head.

As for deserving a second chance, I agree. Everyone deserves the opportunity to make amends for their mistakes. But Joey's had more than a second chance. or a third or fourth for that matter. Perhaps one day he will change, but in the meantime I find it offensive that he is afforded such a lifestyle, and so many chances to redeem himself, simply because of his occupation (I know this is not your reasoning).

He does deserve another chance, everybody does. But I don't think that should be in Football, he's had enough of those. It reflects badly on the Premier League and any moral standards that are left in the sport.

I have to disagree that barton is playing well. Butt is a better tackler than barton without a doubt and barton is meant to be a ball winner. Barton's passing isn't any better than average too. I would rate him at 2.9 million at most.

It was. If only he'd ever tried to do something like that to Edgar Davids...

And now Clattermole has put him out for two months.

All together now, ahhh.

Sorry, forgot the 'hurr'.
