" QPR midfielder Joey Barton is to train with League Two newcomers Fleetwood Town"

How are the mighty fallen.

Hope he stays there

I came into this thread thinking "oh god, what has he done this time..."

How the mighty have fallen indeed.

If mighty includes chinning a 6 stone piss-head suffering from sleep deprevation, and out a cigar on a child then, yeah, he's mighty (n)

its nothing to do with the mighty falling, its so his suspension is served quicker. As it stands his ban ends on the 17th November. At fleetwood if he joins on loan it would expire on the 29th September. 6 weeks before it technically should. this is what ive heard anyway...

if so its incredibly corrupt but very clever at the same time

Surely the FA would see through it and not allow the transfer. Under what other circumstances would a Premier League team loan their captain from the previous season to a team three divisions below them?

It'll be interesting to see how the FA's stance if the loan move does take place. It's very clever by QPR if they can pull it off.

I am not sure what the FA can do as im pretty sure theres no rule which says you can only loan players to teams that are considered good enough.

Surely this just cannot be allowed to go through, it it just taking the complete piss out of the rules.
I agree it is clever from QPR but the FA will have to at least act after the event to ensure that this does not become a trend in the future.

Further, did Tarrabt not say he would never play with Barton again?? And he has just signed a new deal, no??

It's disgusting and, if allowed, has got to lead to a re-write of the rule.
why not loan him to an MLS side & get a few games out the way even quicker!

and the worst part is, that horrible little thug is dressing it up as a moral learning curve for himself!

On the other hand, he is almost certain to give someone a pummeling while down there because he thinks they are beneath him and should give him respect

I think Barton actually talks sense most of the time, I actually quite like him.

Just has a bit of a temper at times, but I can relate to that, certainly on the football pitch.

Why would Taarabt have beef with Barton?

Pretty sure there was some training ground bust up between the 2 of them, with Joey going in hard for a tackle on Tarrabt, I am sure tarrabt said afterwards that he would never play with him again.

But he was probably just sulking :)

Well it is a ban from the English FA and would at least have to be served in England ;)

I can imagine any team doing the same thing. Like Beckham getting a deliberate booking to time the suspension conveniently.
