Yes, that is in fact just our registered UEFA cup squad minus King and Oscar Jansson. I guess provisional means they think Ledley will not play and they forgot about Jansson.

Here is the squad we registered for the UEFA cup and the rules for selection:

So not sure we can read anything into the fact that Bostock, Parrett and Rose are in the squad.

What constitutes 'superb' - barely capable?!

Please remind me of the last time we won a game with him, in the side.

Oh crap! Like I am going to talk football with you..haha. I made that mistake in the past.

I said GOOD DAY!

Willy Wonka?

Oh and I agree, there is nothing wrong with Dawson, he is good in the air, brave and can tackle when he needs to. His positioning isn't great and his decisions are often rash, but that is where Harry needs to work with him on the training field and get him to defend more simply and hence effectively, as he did when he first broke into the team.

In fact he was part of the best defence we have had in years and the following season he was our rock and held our defence together when others were out, he played more games than any other player in our squad and Martin Jol claimed he was our player of the season. That season seemed to effect his defending, as he tried to do too much and take too much responsibility. That lead to him making some very questionable decisions and forcing him into pushing his limited ability (he isn't Ledley or Rio Ferdinand).

Harry has however managed to make far worse defenders than Dawson (Pamarot for example) play as part of a tight defensive unit. To say Dawson is 'barely capable' is unfair.

My real gripe with Daws is his distribution, the amount of time he just tonks it up field really grinds my gears. He looked the nuts when he broke in to the side up at Anfield many moons ago but has gone backwards a bit in recent seasons so hopefully 'Arry does get the best out of him. I really hope Bostock is on the bench tomorrow would be great to see him on the hallowed turf of WHL.

You're right, it is unfair. He is a somewhat capable back-up defender, on occasions. Notably, when he came on this season, against Krakow.

In no way is he 'superb'.

your going on recent form when our entire team was playing crap, pretty harsh i think and has just been stated he played amazingly well for us before . Dawson is a decent defender he has just had a rough patch this last season.

From 'Arry regards Bostock:

"He's on the bench and I'd love to get him on the pitch," Redknapp said. "He's only 16, a kid with terrific talent and a lovely left foot."

Bostock was controversially signed in the summer in a deal that could cost more than £2million, leaving Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan furious. The 16-year-old has been billed as one of the brightest prospects in England.

"He is a special young player with terrific ability, how far he goes is up to him," Redknapp added.

"With all young players it will be up to them how hard they want to work at their game.

"I'd love to get some of the youth team into the first team, that is the long-term aim.

"(Steve) Perryman and (Glenn) Hoddle were fantastic, so let's hope there are a few more coming out of this youth team now."

That makes for good reading, always good to see young talent coming through to the first team and given a chance

Was that the same defence that leaked 54 goals in the season?? Only behind Derby??

If your going to come out with stats like that, why don't you do one for Gareth Bale and his EPL performances for us, that makes more interesting viewing, do you think he is rubbish as well???
