Not sure where to put this or if it's of any interest....

Just met John (who was having a meeting with his agent) and was a very nice approachable young man, and signed an autograph for my daughter.

Top bloke!

He was talking to his agent about how he's got his head sorted and was settled, but also having a bit of a moan about Harry, saying he was always going on about when he sent Rio and Frank out on loan and how well they did...!

So, does Bostock think he should go out on loan and be shit?

Because that's what he's managed in loan spells at Brentford, Hull, Sheff Wed and Swindon.

Spurs invested a lot of cash in John Bostock, but kids like Caulker and Kane who didn't cost a penny, have gone out on loan and been fantastic. Even Adam Smith, way down the pecking order at Spurs, did wll in lower league loan spells, and got his chance on Sunday.

I'm sure that Redknapp always banging on about Rio and Fat Frank would get on anyone's nerves, but 'Arry also sent an 18-year-old Defoe on loan to Bournemouth, where he was sensational and got himself first team football at the Spammers shortly afterwards.

John Bostock has bags of talent, and he needs to start showing it.

Otherwise, check out the thread on Ravel Morrison elsewhere at SC...

Hope he has got his head sorted. He looked good when he first appeared - but has not maintained that, and there are a lot of young players who will take his place if he does not focus on geting his career back on track. Sorry he has moaned enough, now it is time he showed what he can do consistently - otherwise he will find out how hard life can be outside football (ie joining the real world like he rest of us !).

I watch alot of the youth football and follow the players when they are on loan and I get what you are saying but Bostock has done well when on loan but the problem has been attitude

He hasn't got a attitude problem like Ravel Morrison, he has a player who is over confident player and this has caused issues with his managers, because he thinks he is more talented than the players he is fallen out with managers and then started to stop playing and then looked rusty when he does

Its getting to the point where he is running our of time.
He isnt a party boy or a problem child. He is a devout Chrsitian, has been married from a young age. He doesnt have off field distrations or bad influences like Morrison for example. He simply has a bad attitude, believed his own hype and has stalled badly. I really cant see him becoming anywhere near Premier League standard. He's had Loan spells in each of the Championship, League One and League Two and striggled at them all.
Tom Carroll much more advanced in his football development from what I have seen, adn even he will struggle to get much game time with us.

Whilst this is absolutely spot I will add..

This is Harry who was very close to sending Bale out on loan or even selling him for Forest.

Put him in the team due to other injuries and he ended up being one of the best left sided players in the world.

Also thinks Pav is better than Pappis Cisse.

(* Whilst this is partly tongue in cheek - IMO Harry's ability to judge a players ability can be iffy at times)

Jake Livermore didn't pull up many trees when out on loan, but an improved Pre-Season and some stand-out performances got him into the first team squad. I don't think many saw that coming. It's up to Bostock really, how badly does he want it?

Sadly, the signs are that his early progress was probably the result of early physical development for his age group. I think this was always a bit of a worry iirc.

no pressure there then comparing him going out on loan to 2 of the best English players of the last 10 years!

He did well at Swindon, expect he will be there next season.

The value of the autograph you got will have peaked the evening he made his debut for us because I have little doubt that will be the highlight of Bostocks career.

Not meaning to hijack the thread, but I also bumped into a Spurs man the other day.

I was out taking a few photos of my missus for her blog in Hyde Park when this little kid, about 3 years old ran in front on the camera and stood there smiling, waiting for me to take his picture! 'Sorry, mate!', I hear from about 20 metres away and on jogs over Ramon Vega! He apologised again and we chatted about Spurs for a couple of minutes before his kid wanted to run off again.

Really nice guy too, not as big as I thought he'd be though.

The loan system isn't a blue print for how a player will develop...take Livermore he said something that registered with me that he was brought up to play a certain way ie the Tottenham way so when he was playing in the lower divisions his qualities were not able to show. Bostock might be a player that needs to be introduced gradually in cup ties when were winning games or even when a games a lost cause for Tottenham. Lets remember he was a big talent when we brought him there is a player in him.

I harboured big hopes for Bostock, and thought he looked promising when he came on in the waffa cup, but any hope has sadly diminished, much like JB's chances of playing for us. Anything else will be a big bonus.
