Spot on. Also we’ve already spent £47.5m on a HG winger with a limited skill set.

Our next signings in attack have to be either top quality or players with super high ceilings and the exact profile match in terms of skill set (quick, good technically, great 1v1, can play wide and also attack the box etc).
Surely they have to players the manager wants?

The stats back up the eye test for me. He’s quite limited in possession, doesn’t create much at all and isn’t very good 1v1. He does stack up well defensively though.

It is a no from me though. The last thing we need is another attacker who’s limited creatively on the ball and who can’t take people on.

We’re aiming to try and be a consistent CL team and to push to win things. We need higher quality players, with more rounded skillsets and with higher ceilings.

The eye test is pretty subjective, when I’ve watched him live and even in YouTube clips he seems pretty creative and can definitely take people on.

Like I said before I believe Ange could do a job with him, 20 years old, can use both feet, quick and good finishing. With the right coaching he can be a top player.

This, Rowe and Johnson are chalk and cheese when you watch them. Both very different players and room for both in the squad for me. Really like the look of Rowe.

I agree, I feel Rowe can potentially play anywhere across the 3 attacking positions.

I think Johnson should be a ST long term, he doesn’t look like he has the attributes to play on the wing. Looks abit lost out there tbh.

That’s Rowe, Whittaker and Clarke Lazio have had bids turned down for. Scouting the championship thoroughly

As somebody formerly of this parish once observed, "it's a funny old game". I'm old enough to remember the heyday of James Richardson and Football Italia on Channel 4. If someone had told me back then that Serie A clubs would be scouting the championship because they couldn't afford premier league players I'd have laughed at them.

Used to read all the match reports from the games back then. Back when match reports weren't just a bunch of stats with no context, but actual play by play in story form of all the key moments in a match.

Old ESPN Soccernet had these as well for other leagues

Yeah I miss that. Used to be a fair few guys writing that were genuinely knowledgable about the game.
