Ohh we're back to thinking Dele is the answer. Right....

I'm sorry to disappoint your but he ain't.
No but when he doesn't play tomorrow, gets hooked or starts on the bench, it'll give everyone a great opportunity to a good old moan.

Doesn’t sit well with me a player that has been treated like total shit by the manager then having the manager go to him cap in hand to save his job.

If I was dele I would be giving him the finger as how can he suddenly now deicide he is good enough?!

But here are also my feelings on Dele,

Some huge revisionism going on with regards to Alli is he the saviour? No, of course he isn't he's never been the same since his hamstring injuries and streaming career kicked off in fact he probably gets those injuries because he's sat in his gaming chair so long

These players, regardless of formation are better than the showing against Brighton and we made some unforgiveable mistakes against Liverpool who punished us (we get away with nothing against them, been the same for years).

Whether its down to the manager or the players or both, they have to sort their shit out and play with more energy and desire.

Jose looks like he may be going down the same root that led to the end of time at both Chelsea and Man U. Whatever you think of him, he is not stupid. In fact he is very intelligent - so, i would hope that he does not go down that road and alienate the players as he has already started to do.

Time for the manager and players to reset. It can be done, its not too late, but it must start right now.

As I said in another thread, it was only a few short weeks ago that Man U were total shit and OGS was a dead man walking. There is not one person in the country, not even Ole himself who predicted that turn around. So it can be done with the right attitude and focus, no matter how unlikely that might seem today.

I kind of agree but we don't really know that Dele has been treated like shit.
Yeah, he's not playing but he hasn't played well recently and we have no idea what his attitude has been like in training.

A good chat, like proper grown ups, might just be the tonic. It's exactly what the manager should be doing to clear the air and reset the situation.

Regarding not judging managers during Covid well the usual suspects are in the top six and the usual suspects are in the bottom echelons the only cub that is not fulfilling its potential is Spurs .
The backing of this manager and the lambasting of the players is not right For instance all Winks has said is " if I want to play in the euros I need to be playing " now i see nothing wrong with that he has not lambasted the manager or the club he has just stated what is a fact namely
If you are not playing for your club you are not going to play for England .
But seemingly its OK for this manager to call out players on tv and in the press when in the past the very best managers keep problems in house . This mans ego has no boundaries you watch a game where we have one shot on target and he says " it was a fifty fifty game "
It is as tho he is pissing down your back and telling you its raining the sad thing is many are buying into this myth that Jose is " the special one "
It’s all good telling the world you need to be playing to get in the EURO but if winks was performing to the required level then he wouldn’t have been left out of the team in the first place. What Winks needs to do is work hard in training and grab the chance when he get it just like everyone else in the team, the perfect example being Lo Celso last season. If you’re good enough you will play.

He hasn’t fallen out with the players. Ally Gold said he still retains the backing of the dressing room in an article on Monday.

Maybe some of the light weights need shaking up a bit anyway.

I would listen more to Trix’s info than Ally’s.

Trix has been right on numerous occasions with some really left-field info. He also always offers a balanced view. Ally is only given information that the club wants him to have. I don’t think he has any inner circles within the club at all. He is just fed information like any other journalist.

This exactly,

It is why sometimes people will say the most important thing you can do when playing sport is get your first action right, as it sets off a chain of reactions in the body.

Goalkeepers are famous for this (I was one), I always used to find if I made a great save early doors I would genuinely play really well but then for example if I parried something or I got beat early little mistakes would creep in. (this is what sets the best apart).

In football it can be even worse for players with things like getting beat easily, or a bad touch miss of an easy chance it can play on you over and over again.

(especially when you have a manager who will highlight it).

People see footballers as supremely confident young men when in reality they are in most cases the opposite.

It was also one of the things I liked about poch is set up,

From kick off we would go back and launch it forward in a WE ARE COMING FOR YOU, method that way if you win that first flick or a free kick or whatever instantly the opponents know they are in a game.

Now from kick off we just go back and hope for the best

With the greatest respect to Trix Ally has had information years before he was a journalist and would definitely know some of the squad.

Hilarious. We went behind so many times in Poch’s games and he had to change formation at half time or personnel at his favoured 60 minute mark. We rarely started games on the front foot. It was a stick used to beat him with weekly. If anything we have changed that and finish games badly now.

Well no...
We are taking posession of the ball and wanting the opposition to open up to leave space for the likes of Kane and Son to move into.

Both are fine strategies, the problem with our current one is the vertical ball vs the ponderous pass it about a bit at the back and then launch it forward in the hope to catch a counter.

Currently we are being sussed out, with a mid press, allowing our defenders to piss about with it, knowing they'll lilely hoof it forward and we will run ourselves ragged chasing easy to defend balls.

We need the likes of Lo Celso and Ndombele really move with the ball AND pass it forwards quickly, with PEH ensuring we don't get caught out on a counter. However for this to work I believe our defenders need to be more dynamic and not have to have the whole game in front of them so that we can afford to push up more when we do move through the gears.

Toby, Dier and Davies are far too ponderous and laborious and losing Reg at the LB has really hurt us, depsite his rawness.

With the caveat that it is possible I remember incorrectly, I do believe football.london and Gold posted something about Pochettino not at all being fired just before he was fired. Not taking sides here just more cautioning against pitting the various people providing info against one another when they offer contradicting info.

For sure Dele has not been the same player for a long time and I suspect that many of the same people blaming Jose for keeping him out are the same ones that look for any reason to have a go at him; however as he's not going to be leaving and we clearly need something, maybe it couldn't do any harm if Jose is looking at giving him a start.
