Was that the match at WHL that Utd wore that putrid grey strip, and came out after half time wearing something else because Fergie "hated" the grey? I remember watching that game with my mate, who is a Utd supporter and giving it to him large at half time. What a dick! :wideyed:
No, that’s a different 5-3
United lost at Southampton wearing the grey kit, changed into blue at half time.

Not a match we were involved in.

Sadly the 5-3 for us was when we blew them away for 45 mins, only to fold in a way only we can

Who’s our next manager?

The bit about winks just amused me. He doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about. It’s laughable

“Similarly, Mourinho’s treatment of Harry Winks is also baffling as he is an England international, a midfielder full of creativity who was a huge influence under Mauricio Pochettino but has been sidelined this season despite playing regularly for his country. They miss his creativity.”
What 5 minutes were you watching??

Wasn't there a game against city when we were 3-0 to the good at halftime with them down to ten men, and then in true spurs style somehow managed to lose 4-3.
I suppose we are good at providing entertainment for the masses but no good for any of us.
:) :)

Usually permanent I believe. Best off sending a PM to a Mod and politely ask for your access back.
Been banned for 5-6 years for a simple mistake. Tried to ask an admin after a couple of years if I had done my time now. Still banned, probably for ever.

Yes that was an fa cup game

with results like these it’s hard to understand why an attempt to alter the clubs dna is so unpopular.

Literally an error.

Those goals are the exact reason why we need defend deep at times because its the lack of anticipation or failure to read the game which in turn makes it easy for the opposition attackers to play hence then need to 'deny space' for them to play in.

Until we get better personnel or the defenders suddenly switch on which isn't going to happen then that isn't going to change any time soon.
My issue with the deep defending is that, aside from stifling our attack if we’re not fitting on ah cylinders, or defenders are still more than capable of making those same mistakes that they make when we play more on the front foot, so we’ve ended up sacrificing an element of our attacking potential to try and remedy what is probably a lost cause with existing personnel, while also giving the opposition encouragement to throw the kitchen sink at us knowing we have great tools with which to hurt them.

Essentially, our attack isn’t consistent enough or creative enough consistently to play a defence first game long term, and our defence isn’t good enough in its focus or reading of the game to play front foot football, so you have to decide which dice you roll. I think if you go with the approach v Everton, for which we were without 3 of our most regular back four remember and our defensive midfielder was way below his own high standards, then we beat most of the teams we are meant to beat without too many hiccup, it’s 50/50 again the similar level sides and worse odds v the best couple of sides, so in those circumstances reverting to the defensive approach is more understandable.

I think with a solid defence it gives you more than a puncher's chance of getting a result however I'll say that there's no right or wrong answer here, I think it depends on who we're playing. I can though understand why he's been sitting back I mean we played on the front foot in the last days of Poch with more or less the same defence and bad things happened. I guess for me it's about building confidence in defending and learning how to defend as a unit.

I don't understand why Jose supporters think people who don't want Jose want Spurs to fail. That's absolute bollocks. We might hate Jose but we want Spurs to win. We can still want Jose out.

I agree with you that it is bollocks. I am not a Jose hater and I was pleased when he was appointed. I do not think that those who don't like him/don't want him as our manager, really want us to fail. I have read only one post that actually said that (there may be a couple of other posts that I have missed).

Fingers, toes, everything crossed that Jose not mentioning Reguilon among the injuries means he could be back. Lord knows we desperately need him.

no problem with defending deep “at times”

for both goals we were deep, holding the line on the edge, as usual, but no one laid a glove on Gylfi, or either runner

my point is he coaches, and picks the team and at least signing off on transfers - so the buck stops with him.

would you pay 60 quid to watch his football?
